  • Patent number: 12330608
Abstract: A method of controlling an electromechanical brake system. The method comprises measuring a voltage of a motor, measuring a current of the motor, and estimating a position of a component of the electromechanical brake system based on the voltage and the current. The method comprises estimating a force imposed by the component based on the voltage and the current, and estimating a hydraulic pressure associated with a hydraulic brake system. In an apply operation, the force of the component is corrected based on the hydraulic pressure. In a release operation, the position of the component is corrected based on the hydraulic pressure.

  • Publication number: 20190275620
Abstract: A method comprising the steps of: (a) forming one or more friction materials of a brake pad; and (b) inspecting each of the one or more friction materials with one or more ultrasonic testers while each of the one or more friction materials are within a manufacturing line to determine if each of the one or more friction materials meet one or more desired material properties.

  • Patent number: 9989112
Abstract: A caliper housing having a) an inboard side; b) an outboard side distanced from the inboard side so that a rotor gap is formed between the inboard side and the outboard side; c) a bridge structure which extends from both the inboard side and the outboard side over the rotor gap and connects the inboard side with the outboard side; d) a damper bore passing through the caliper housing from the inboard side into the bridge structure; and e) a mass damper residing within the damper bore; wherein the mass damper is adapted to dampen vibrations occurring during use of the caliper housing.

  • Publication number: 20090166137
Abstract: The present invention is predicated upon a disc brake rotor, being made up of a rotor hat, a pair of spaced apart plates, and one or more vane members located between the first and second plates, the one or more vane members including an exterior wall portion inwardly retracted from an outer circumference by an exterior radial spacing and an interior wall portion outwardly retracted from the inner circumference by an interior radial spacing, wherein at least one of the exterior radial spacing and the interior radial spacing is a distance having a depth greater than about 5 mm for the purpose of reducing brake noise in a brake-on position.
