Abstract: An echo cancellation system for use with a controller area network having at least two physical layers is disclosed. The system includes a flip flop circuit and a first resistor capacitor tank circuit and a second resistor capacitor tank circuit. The echo cancellation system uses a transition dependent delay in the circuit that will be tuned to be longer than the propagation delay of the CAN transceivers but less than the bit sample point for the CAN network thus eliminating any possibility of oscillation occurring within the CAN network during transfer of information between physical layers.
