  • Publication number: 20010017037
Abstract: A refrigeration system (10) has a compressor (12), condensor (13) and evaporator (14) connected in a refrigeration circuit. A controller (16) has probes (19, 20) for sensing the temperatures of the evaporator (14) and condensor (13) respectively. The controller controls the operation of the compressor, and hence the refrigeration circuit, so that the compressor does not start unless the evaporator temperature is above a preselected value (Tstart), and stops the compressor if the evaporator temperature falls below Tdisable. An alarm (21) is activated if the condensor temperature rises above Talarm, and the controller (16) stops the compressor (12) if the condensor temperature rises above a higher temperature Tshutdown.

  • Publication number: 20010003248
Abstract: A refrigerated display cabinet (10) has a chamber (12) accessible via the doors (12) of the cabinet. The bottommost shelf (16) in the chamber is a substantially imperforate shelf which is spaced from the bottom wall (17) of the chamber to form a duct-like passage through which air is drawn by a fan (15). The air is directed past an evaporator (17) of a refrigerating mechanism so as to be cooled. The cooled air is recirculated into the chamber (12) by passing it through apertures in a perforate inclined rear internal wall (18) of the chamber. The remainder of the cooled air is directed downwardly through openings (24) at the top of the chamber past the front of the shelves.

  • Publication number: 20010003408
Abstract: A mullion assembly (13) for a refrigerated cabinet (10) has an extruded metal post (14) as its main structural member. A flexible cover strip (15) is clipped on to the front face of the post (14), and forms the surface against which the doors of the cabinet seal when closed. One or more magnetic strips (16) are located between the post (14) and the cover strip (15) for magnetic interaction with associated magnetic strips in respective doors. An apertured plate (18) may be fitted to the rear of the post (14). A light (20) is suitably mounted to the rear plate (18). End caps (23) may also be fitted to the top and bottom of the post (14).
