  • Patent number: 12281861
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of anodizing the interior surface of a heat transfer tube comprising placing a plurality of contact electrodes in electrical communication with, and along, an exterior surface of the heat transfer tube, inserting a counter electrode into an interior space of the heat transfer tube, providing an electrolytic solution to the interior space of the heat transfer tube, passing an electric current between the plurality of contact electrodes and the counter electrode through the electrolytic solution, forming an oxidation layer along the interior surface of the heat transfer tube, wherein the oxidation layer has an oxidation layer thickness that decreases along a length of the heat transfer tube, stopping the passage of the electric current, removing the electrolytic solution, and applying a sealing solution to a surface of the oxidation layer to form a sealed oxidation layer along the interior surface of the heat transfer tube.

  • Publication number: 20250003700
Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for protecting a tube of a heat exchanger. The method includes inserting at least one portion of a non-ferrous tube into a hole of a tube sheet of the heat exchanger. The at least one portion of the non-ferrous tube is then rolled to radially expand the at least one portion. The at least one portion expands and forms a seal with the hole. A sleeve is then affixed onto an inner surface corresponding to the at least one portion of the non-ferrous tube.

  • Publication number: 20250003107
Abstract: An anodization apparatus is disclosed that includes an anode holder adapted to hold a tube, such that the tube is adapted to receive electrolyte and the tube has a first surface profile formed on an inner surface of the tube. The anodization apparatus also includes a cathode holder adapted to hold a cathode concentrically in the tube, such that the cathode has a second surface profile formed an outer surface of the cathode and the outer surface faces the inner surface of the tube. The cathode holder and the anode holder are adapted to supply electric potential of a predetermined current density to the cathode and the tube, respectively, and a surface area ratio between the first surface profile and the second surface profile is maintained within a predetermined range to facilitate formation of a homogenized anodized coat on the second surface profile.

  • Patent number: 11591697
Abstract: A corrosion protection system is provided. The corrosion protection system comprises an electrical contact coupled to an apparatus. The electrical contact can apply a negative potential to the apparatus. The corrosion protection system comprises a sensor. The sensor detects moisture with respect to the apparatus. The corrosion protection system comprises a power supply. The power supply is electrically coupled to the electrical contact and provides a negative potential to the electrical contact in accordance with commands of a processor. The processor utilizes the power supply attached to the apparatus via the electrical contact to provide and apply the negative potential to the apparatus based on a sensor signal from the sensor. The sensor signal indicates the detection of the moisture by the sensor.
