  • Publication number: 20070022565
Abstract: A vacuum cleaner includes a housing, a suction generator carried by the housing, a bag compartment and a bag cage. The bag compartment is defined by a bag compartment wall including an airflow inlet and an airflow outlet. The bag cage is received in the bag compartment. The bag cage defines a bag cavity that hold a filter bag in a position spaced from the bag compartment wall so as to maintain a clear airflow passage.

  • Publication number: 20060117521
Abstract: A rotary agitator includes a body having an axis of rotation. The body also includes a projecting cleaning element extending along the body at an angle relative to the axis of rotation of greater than 45 degrees. The projecting cleaning element may take the form of, for example, a beater bar, a flexible wiper, a brush and a series of bristle tufts.

  • Publication number: 20060090291
Abstract: A rotary agitator for a cleaning apparatus includes a body having an axis of rotation and a zero degree pitch plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. The rotary agitator also includes an agitation element carried on the body. The agitation element includes a first portion provided at a positive pitch angle relative to the zero degree pitch plane and a second portion provided at a negative pitch angle relative to the zero degree pitch plane.

  • Publication number: 20060053584
Abstract: A rotary agitator for a cleaning apparatus includes a cylindrical body and a projecting cleaning element carried on that cylindrical body. The projecting cleaning element has a chevron shape and includes a first, outwardly directed face and a second, inwardly directed face. The first outwardly directed face defines a leading edge during agitator rotation whereby nap of an underlying carpet being cleaned is pushed outwardly toward opposing ends of the cylindrical body. Accordingly, dirt at the base of the nap is exposed to the airstream and better, deep cleaning efficiency is provided.

  • Publication number: 20060042040
Abstract: A rug or carpet cleaner includes a housing, a suction generator carried on the housing and agitator carried on the housing. The agitator includes a hollow body, a cleaning projection carried on the hollow body, an air intake aperture provided in the cleaning projection and an outlet in fluid communication with the suction generator.

  • Publication number: 20050175417
Abstract: A roof bolt comprises a shaft for insertion in a hole drilled in a mine roof and a head whereby the bolt may be rotated, the head being offset with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shaft so that when the bolt is rotated by means of its head the shaft is caused to describe a circle of greater diameter than its own diameter, and where the offset is at least 08 inch and not more than 0.25 inch. Preferably the offset is from 0.10 to 0.16 inch. The invention includes a method for the production of roof bolts which comprise a shaft for insertion in a hole drilled in a mine roof and a head whereby the bolt may be rotated, the method being characterised by being controlled so that at least 90% of the bolts produced have their head central axis offset with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shaft by an amount of at least about 0.08 inch and not more than about 0.25 inch.
