  • Patent number: 10409450
Abstract: A system and method for creating a visual perspective of operational information that facilitates rapid decision making. The system and method merges existing data sources from any number of computer-fed external data sources through an applications server to display data set in easily recognizable, repeatable images (tiles) uniquely designed for a user's application. The system and method create visual perspectives of data that accelerate decision-making and problem solving processes by displaying repeatable images (tiles) that display performance results verses expected performance criteria in high-volume, intuitive displays. The system and method utilizes facet searching to assist in refining the displayed images (tiles) to display a system status to the user.

  • Publication number: 20090315891
Abstract: A system and method for automatically determining state ranges for data displayed on a display medium is disclosed. At least one metric relating to an object within a problem set is selected. Range parameters used in generating state ranges for each selected metric are specified. The range parameters include the number of state ranges for each metric and at least one statistical model. Data reflecting the values of each selected metric is input and analyzed using the range parameters, resulting in at least one state range for each of the selected metrics and statistical models. The statistical model that provides the best fit to the data is selected. The state ranges for the selected metrics and statistical model are output for use by a display medium that displays data relating to the selected metrics as a graphical representation of a state of the object to which the metric relates.

  • Publication number: 20070208725
Abstract: A plurality of knowledge enhanced graphical symbols are utilized to represent a display element type when displaying a common operational picture. Plural instances of such a display element type allow rapid visual assessment of the situation displayed on the common operational picture by permitting a user to rapidly identify instances which are abnormal or problematic. Individual knowledge enhanced graphical symbols may aggregate information from other knowledge enhanced graphical symbols and other knowledge enhanced graphical symbols may be utilized to change the state of data in a database from which information about the common operational picture is derived.

  • Publication number: 20060209071
Abstract: A graphical interface for information cognition uses knowledge enhanced graphical symbols. The interface is implemented using a visual language and visual metaphors which enable quick and ready understanding of the states of complex systems represented using the language. Individual knowledge enhanced graphical symbols may have the capability of representing or summarizing a plurality of other knowledge enhanced graphical symbols and may be selectively activated to display the underlying knowledge enhanced graphical symbols and to receive user input of state information.
