Abstract: An orthopedic plate includes an upper surface positioned opposite the plate from a lower surface, and at least one through hole extending between the upper and lower surfaces so as to establish fluid communication therebetween. The plate also includes a body portion, a base portion integral with and extending from the body portion, and an extension integral with and extending from the body portion in a direction substantially opposite that of the base portion. Also disclosed is an orthopedic plating system. The system includes an orthopedic plate that has a body portion, a base portion integral with the body portion and an extension integral with the body portion and the base portion. The system further includes a drill guide that is releasably couplable with the body portion of the orthopedic plate.
