    Abstract: A method for coloring a disposable absorbent article comprising the steps of providing a plurality of elements each comprising at least one imparted color; wherein the imparted color was provided by a coloration technique, and joining at least two elements that were subjected to different coloration techniques to yield the disposable absorbent article; wherein the imparted colors of the elements subjected to the different coloration techniques are contained within a CIELab color space volume of less than about 190. The imparted colors of the elements subjected to the different coloration techniques may also be contained within a CIELab color space hue difference of less than about 4.     Abstract: An absorbent material having substantially improved structural stability in the dry and wet states. The absorbent materials are significantly less susceptible to handling losses of absorbent gelling particles during manufacturing operations. The absorbent material also is not subject to shifting of the absorbent gelling particles during or after swelling by fluids. The absorbent material comprises absorbent gelling particles comprising (a) a water-insoluble absorbent hydrogel-forming polymer; (b) a polycationic polymer bonded to the absorbent gelling particles at the surface thereof; (c) glue microfibers dispersed in the absorbent gelling particles; and (d) a carrier layer bonded to the absorbent gelling particles through the glue microfibers. The invention further relates to a method of making the absorbent materials, and the absorbent articles comprising the absorbent materials.

    Abstract: Porous, absorbent macrostructures that comprise flexible interparticle bonded aggregates and are useful in absorbent articles such as diapers, adult incontinence pads, and sanitary napkins are disclosed. These porous macrostructures are treated with an effective amount of a latex to coat at least a portion of the particles comprising the bonded aggregate so as to impart increased flexibility to the macrostruture. This latex is capable of being sintered at a temperature of about 25.degree. C. or lower, is at least somewhat hydrophilic when sintered, and has a Tg of about 25.degree. C. or lower when sintered.
