  • Publication number: 20140256682
Abstract: A combination therapy for treating osteoarthritis is disclosed. The combination therapy includes the co-administration of a steroid and Zoledronic Acid. The coadministration of a steroid decreases the production of cytokines, and, therefore, decreases the pro-inflammatory effects of Zoledronic Acid. The co-administration of Zoledronic Acid with steroids treats osteoarthritis, and helps to prevent the onset of osteoarthritis in patients at risk for osteoarthritis.
    Type: Application

  • Patent number: 8389525
Abstract: The invention provides compounds that inhibit protein kinases, prodrugs of the compounds, intermediates and methods of synthesizing the compounds and/or prodrugs, pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds and/or prodrugs and methods of using the compounds and/or prodrugs in a variety of contexts, including, for example, in the treatment and/or prevention of various diseases that are responsive to protein kinase inhibition and/or that are mediated, at least in part, by inappropriate kinase activity.

  • Publication number: 20110263537
Abstract: Zoledronic Acid is used for treatment of hypercalcemia of malignancy, for the treatment of bone metastasis associated with malignancies such as prostate and breast cancer, for the prevention of and treatment of osteoporosis and for the treatment of Paget's disease. Administration of Zoledronic Acid is complicated by what is described as “post-dosing syndrome” (PDS) and osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ). Inflammation may be the cause of these side effects, which could be decreased by the co-administration of steroids. This application is a method of use patent for the co-administration of steroids (oral, IV, IM, rectal, or by inhalation) with Zoledronic Acid and a composition of matter patent for mixing Methyl Prednisolone with Zoledronic Acid for infusion.

  • Publication number: 20100179103
Abstract: Curcumin has shown anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic properties that could be useful in treating various diseases such as those of rheumatology and oncology. However, curcumin is very poorly absorbed and has a very low bioavailability. This patent describes a method of increasing the delivery of curcumin by complexing it with cyclodextrins. Cyclodextrins are well known in the food industry and have been used to carry other drugs to increase bioavailability. The new combination of cyclodextrins and curcumin has been tested in pre-clinical inflammation models where it has demonstrated efficacy superior to both the positive control and curcumin.

  • Publication number: 20070105596
Abstract: A method, wireless device and system retrieve and display caller information in real time by enabling a local data ID send feature on a calling wireless device (102), transmitting identification information (304) associated with the calling wireless device (102) and stored locally on the calling wireless device (102) to a receiving wireless device (104), receiving the identification information (304) at the receiving wireless device (104), and displaying the identification information (304) associated with the calling wireless device (102) on the receiving wireless device (104). The identification information contains a name, a phone number, and/or a direct connection ID. The local data ID send feature can be enabled for all calls initiated by the calling wireless device (102) or enabled for a single call basis.

  • Publication number: 20050153744
Abstract: A system and method of retrieving dispatch call information from a dedicated database by using interconnect call information. Interconnect call information from an interconnect communication system is obtained. The information identifies a target dispatch subscriber unit in a dispatch communication system. A request is received from a source dispatch subscriber unit. The request includes the interconnect call information. The interconnect call information identifying the target dispatch subscriber unit is extracted from the request. The interconnect call information of the target dispatch subscriber is related to unique dispatch call connection information of the target dispatch subscriber in a dedicated database. The unique dispatch call connection information concerning the target dispatch subscriber unit from the dedicated database in the dispatch communication system is retrieved using the extracted interconnect call information from the request.
