Abstract: A method and apparatus of driving a liquid crystal display device is disclosed in the present invention. The liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of data lines, a plurality of gate lines crossing the data lines, a plurality of first liquid crystal cells on a first side of the data lines, a plurality of second liquid crystal cells on a second side of the data lines, a first switching part in each of the first liquid crystal cells and controlled by the ith gate line and the (i+2)th gate line (wherein i is a natural number), and a second switching part in each of the second liquid crystal cells and controlled by the ith gate line.

Abstract: An LCD device with improved an aperture ratio and decreased parasitic capacitance has a passivation layer of an inorganic material and which includes a gate line on a first substrate; a gate insulating layer on an entire surface of the first substrate including the gate line; a data line on the gate insulating layer in perpendicular to the gate line, to define a pixel region; a thin film transistor at a crossing portion of the gate and data lines; a passivation layer on the entire surface of the first substrate including the thin film transistor; a pixel electrode on the passivation layer, for being connected with a drain electrode of the thin film transistor; and a light-shielding metal for receiving a voltage, formed between the data line and the pixel electrode, to prevent a parasitic capacitance between the data line and the pixel electrode.

Abstract: A thin and compact liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel with first and second substrates, each having a display area and a non-display area, which are bonded to each other and separated from each other by liquid crystal material. A thermally conductive layer is formed on any one of the first and second substrates to prevent the liquid crystal material from becoming too cool, thereby preventing temperature-dependent formation of bubbles within the liquid crystal material. Such a liquid crystal display device may be simply fabricated.
