  • Patent number: 8308175
Abstract: Provided is a tubular torsion beam for rear suspensions of vehicles, which is produced according to a more durable design capable of improving roll stiffness and roll strength of the tubular torsion beam. The tubular torsion beam is produced by pressure-forming a tubular steel member through hydroforming such that the tubular torsion beam has a cross-section varying along an entire length thereof, with opposite ends having a closed cross-section and mounted to respective trailing arms, a middle portion having a V-shaped open cross-section, and a transitional portion having a varying cross-section and connecting the middle portion to each of the opposite ends. During the process of manufacturing the tubular torsion beam, the opposite ends of the tubular steel member are fed using respective axial punches of a hydroforming machine, so that the opposite ends are thicker than the middle portion.

  • Patent number: 5541660
Abstract: A motion compensated interpolation filter calculates an interpolated frame between two input frames of video signals having moving objects therein. The interpolation filter includes two 2-dimensional filter which are identical in structure. Each of the 2-dimensional filters has a 2-dimensional systolic array structure for providing a weighted sum of 4 pixels of each of the input frames, respectively. Each of the 2-dimensional filter includes (2N+1).multidot.(2N+1) identical processing elements, and each of a block of (2N+1).multidot.(2N+1) pixels is inputted to each of the processing elements, and each of the processing elements generates filter coefficients, to be multiplied to a corresponding pixel values. Since the systolic array structure inherently incorporates modularity and regularity therein, the interpolation filter is suitable for real-time processing with easy hardware implementation.

  • Patent number: 5453801
Abstract: An improved motion estimating method serves to determine a set of target motion vectors between a current and its previous selected frames, wherein N number of frames are skipped between the current and the previous selected frames, the N being a positive integer inclusive of 1. This method is implemented through the use of all frames, i.e., the current and the previous selected frames and the N number of skipped frames in order to obtain a series of motion vectors for one of the search blocks within the current selected frame. The series of motion vectors is then summed up to define a target motion vector representing the displacement between the one of the search blocks and the corresponding best matching block in the previous selected frame. The process is repeated until the set of target motion vectors for all of the search blocks contained in the current selected frame are detected.
