Abstract: An apparatus for recognizing a user's motions based on sensor information and label information, a method for establishing an ONMF-based basis matrix, and a method for establishing an OSSNMF-based basis matrix are provided, where the basis matrices are used to extract motion features of the user. The apparatus for recognizing the user's motions may include a feature vector extractor configured to multiply a transposed matrix of an orthogonalized basis matrix by a sensor data matrix of frequency domain sensor data acquired from sensors to extract an ONMF-based feature vector and a multi-class classifier configured to use the extracted ONMF-based feature vector to classify the user's motion into a type from among types of a user's motions.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for allocating a radio resource in a wireless sensor network are provided, in which a signal requesting a radio resource allocation is received from any one of sensors included in the wireless sensor network, an amount of remaining energy is compared with respect to each zone where a sensor transmitting the signal is included, an order of zones, from a zone comprising a greatest amount of remaining energy to a zone having a least amount of remaining energy, is determined as a result of the comparison, and a time slot is allocated to a sensor of each zone according to the determined order of zones, when transmitting a frame for the radio resource allocation.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing a ubiquitous service or a ubiquitous device using a uniform object model are provided. Because a virtual ubiquitous environment is constructed with devices, services, users, layouts, and the like, physical construction of the ubiquitous environment to test services or devices is not needed. Therefore, the effectiveness of the ubiquitous device or service can be confirmed without requiring a ubiquitous environment to be physically constructed. Additionally, time or cost of constructing a ubiquitous environment can be reduced. Because a variety of environments can be easily constructed through the test of devices or services, the performances of the devices or services can also be improved.

Abstract: A system and method for saving sensor power consumption based on context information on a wireless sensor network are provided. Basic context information is received from inside and outside of a network system including at least one sensor, wherein context information based on the basic context information is determined by inference, a group of expected services corresponding to the context information is determined, a sensor operation mode according to the group of expected services is determined, and control data is transmitted to the sensor according to the sensor operation mode. Accordingly, a sensor operation mode is adaptively determined according to changes of context information so that power consumption of a sensor can be saved.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for establishing a path in a wireless network are provided where the method includes receiving location information about a first neighbor node and a second neighbor node, the first neighbor node being located within a range of a first hop from a source node, the second neighbor node being located within a range of a second hop from the source node, determining a direction of a point where the second neighbor node is located, based on the source node, by using the received location information; detecting a particular second neighbor node having a same direction of a point where a destination node is located, based on the source node, and limitedly establishing a path via the detected second neighbor node, when the source node establishes a path for transmitting predetermined data to the destination node.
