Abstract: A two-component adhesive, sealant, or coating composition containing (i) a first component containing a portion of an alkoxysilane-functional urethane and water; and (ii) a second component containing the remaining portion of the alkoxysilane-functional urethane and a catalyst. The alkoxysilane-functional urethane includes the reaction product of (a) the reaction product of a hydroxy functional compound and a polyisocyanate, that contains isocyanate groups; with (b) an amine functional aspartate. The composition is used in a method of bonding a first substrate to a second substrate. The method includes (a) combining component i) and component ii) to form a mixture, applying a coating of the mixture to at least one surface of the first substrate or the second substrate, and contacting a surface of the first substrate with a surface of the second substrate. The method is used make an assembly.

Abstract: An adhesive, sealant or coating composition that includes: a) 20 to 80% by weight, based on the weight of a), b), and c) of a polyether urethane containing two or more reactive silane groups and one or more polyether segments, b) 20 to 80% by weight, based on the weight of a), b), and c) of a polyether urethane containing one reactive silane group and one or more polyether segments, and c) 1 to 60% by weight, based on the weight of a), b), and c) of a pigment having a BET surface area of from 15 to 100 m2/g and an oil absorption of from 40 to 110 cc/100 g; where the sum of a), b), and c) does not exceed 100% by weight. The composition can be used to bond and/or coat substrates.

Abstract: The present invention relates to ethylenically unsaturated polyurethanes whichi) are substantially free from isocyanate groups,ii) are liquid at 25.degree. C.,iii) have a total content of ethylenically unsaturated groups (calculated as C=C, MW 24) of 1 to 20% by weight andiv) contain the reaction product of 4-isocyanatomethyl-1,8-octamethylene diisocyanate (NTI) with a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate.The present invention also relates to a one-component coating composition containing these ethylenically unsaturated polyurethanes.
