Publication number: 20250146585Abstract: A check valve having a through-flow grooved poppet is provided in which the poppet includes a plurality of helically-oriented grooves around the exterior surface of the poppet, as well as a set of poppet apertures. When the check valve is displaced from a closed position, fluid flows from a first port to a second port by passing through both the set of poppet apertures and the plurality of helically-oriented groves positioned on the exterior of the poppet. The poppet thus provides multiple flow paths which improves the performance of the check valve by reducing the pressure drop upon activation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2024Publication date: May 8, 2025Applicant: Prince Industries, LLCInventors: Jesse O. Publication number: 20200103512Abstract: A marine sonar display device comprises a display, a sonar element, a memory element, and a processing element. The display presents sonar images. The sonar element generates a sonar beam and presents transducer signals. The processing element is in communication with the display, the sonar element, and the memory element and receives the transducer signals, calculates sonar data from the transducer signals and generates a three-dimensional view of a portion of the body of water, wherein the view includes a plurality of sonar images. Each sonar image is generated from sonar data derived from a previously-generated sonar beam and includes representations of underwater objects and a water bed. The processing element also generates a cursor plane and a cursor positioned thereon, both of which appear on the three-dimensional view. The processing element further controls the display to present the three-dimensional view, the sonar images, the cursor plane, and the cursor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2019Publication date: April 2, 2020Inventors: Kevin A. Brown, Aaron R. Coleman

Patent number: 8292232Abstract: A satellite recovery apparatus having a base configured to be attached to a satellite and having a pressurized gas chamber and a valve assembly. A plurality of walls are hingedly attached to the base and movable between a closed position, wherein the walls define a volume above the base, and an open position, wherein the walls are disposed spaced away from the base. A heat shield is attached to the base. A deployable decelerator is attached to the heat shield and has an outer perimeter with an expandable torus that is operably connected to the valve assembly such that the expandable torus can be pressurized from the chamber. Pressurization of the expandable torus deploys the decelerator assembly from a non-deployed position within the volume to a deployed high-drag position.Type: GrantFiled: August 11, 2010Date of Patent: October 23, 2012Assignee: Andrews Space, Inc.Inventors: Dana G.
