  • Patent number: 8914917
Abstract: Protective hip pads and tailbone pads formed of resilient padding material have a combination belt slot and snap faster attachment arrangement and can selectively attached to athletic pants having either snap fasteners in the waistband, or to athletic pants having a waistband with a number of exposed slots through which a belt extends. Thin stiff flexible support plates are affixed to the front and back side of the pads and laterally spaced slotted apertures extending through the pad and support plates have a vertical slot and an intersecting horizontal slot. Snap fasteners slidably mounted in respective horizontal slots can be moved to be aligned and pressed onto mating snap members in the waistband to secure the pads to the waistband or, alternatively, moved to expose the vertical slots to receive a pants belt laced through the waistband and vertical slots to secure the pads to the waistband.

  • Publication number: 20140312124
Abstract: An RFID assembly for securing an RFID device to a container. The assembly includes a clip having a first leg and a second leg connected by a resiliently flexible byte portion. The RFID device is attached to the clip. The assembly is inserted under and within an upper rim of a container, and the spring force provided by the byte portion secures the clip within the space, hidden from view. The first and/or second legs may include teeth to assist in securing the assembly in position.

  • Publication number: 20050127577
Abstract: An injection molded article having an integral thermoplastic skin, and a method for making such an article. The article includes an injection molded substrate and a thermoplastic skin integrally bonded to the substrate during the injection molding process. The process includes the steps of opening the mold; placing the thermoplastic skin in the mold: closing the mold; injection molding the plastic substrate at a temperature, pressure, and fill rate that avoids thermal or mechanical damage to the skin; opening the mold; and removing the article from the mold. In a first refinement, the mold is pressurized prior to injection molding to force the skin into conformance with the mold. In a second refinement, the marginal edge of the skin is sandwiched between the mold halves so that the marginal edge remains free of the plastic substrate.

  • Patent number: 5098141
Abstract: An improved quick release glove box latch mechanism (10) includes a button (76) having at least one undercut (90) which can be disposed in register with one or more fingers (146) of a lever (120) to interlock the lever (120) to the button (76). The button (76) can be integrally molded to form the undercuts (90). An outer collar (270) can be integrally molded to a housing (70) of the latch mechanism (10) and can extend rearwardly from the housing (70). A locking collar (78) is mounted within the outer collar (270). The lever (120) pivots about a pivot pin (122) and is biased to a rest position by a torsion spring (124). A first end (128) of the torsion spring (124) is received in a small bore or slot (160) in the lever (120). A second end (130) of the torsion spring (124) is disposed in a small bore or slot (284) in the housing (70) in such a manner that the pivot pin (122) retains the second end (130) of the torsion spring (124) in the housing (70).
