  • Patent number: 11969912
Abstract: A modular press suitable for use in the manufacture of EWC products may include a plurality of frame modules coupled together and aligned along a feed path axis. Each frame module may have a generally planar body supported on a corresponding pair of bases, an elongate aperture, an upper and a lower platform within the aperture, and a platen between the platforms. Optionally, the ends of the aperture may be curved. A first actuator system may be operable to move the platen from a raised position to an intermediate position, and a second actuator system may be operable to press the platen downwardly from the intermediate position onto a workpiece within the aperture. Some modular presses include conveyor rolls and a third actuator system to raise and lower the conveyor rolls. In some embodiments, the actuator systems may be pneumatic actuator systems. Corresponding methods and systems are also described herein.

  • Publication number: 20240104549
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and methods enabling updating of a card number of a payment card and thereby reissuing the payment card utilizing a reissue application associated with the payment card. The reissue application, when executed communicates with a service provider that manages the payment card. The payment card includes processing circuitry and a rewriteable visual display. Using cryptographic techniques, the reissue application and payment card are authenticated to the service provider. Upon verification, an updated card number is obtained and provided via near-field communication to the payment card. In response to the update payment card number received from the reissue application, the rewriteable visual display on the payment card is updated with the updated card number. Other information may also be presented on the rewriteable visual display of the payment card based on user preferences.

  • Patent number: 11284278
Abstract: A method and system for triggering RF reconfiguration of wireless communication system. RSRP-SINR pairs determined respectively for locations in a region of interest are mapped to predicted MOS of voice communication per location, using a prediction engine trained based on actual correlated measurements of RSRP, SINR, and MOS. Locations having threshold low MOS and threshold low RSRP but not threshold low SINR are identified and clustered to identify an area where coverage strength should be increased in an effort to help improve voice-call quality. And locations having threshold low MOS and threshold low SINR but not threshold low RSRP are identified and clustered to identify an area where interference should be reduced in an effort to help improve voice-call quality. An engineering trouble ticket or other signal could then be generated to trigger associated network reconfiguration.

  • Patent number: 10178664
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods to reduce interference in heterogeneous networks having a plurality of access nodes, such as combinations of macro cells, micro cells, pico cells, femto cells, etc. are disclosed. Interference caused in sectors of two or more access nodes that face each other is minimized by dividing a total number of resource blocks into resource block sets that are uniquely numbered and allocated across each sector of each access node. The allocation is rotated based on a different time stamp or a different starting number, or may be a random sequence of sets per access node. These independent allocations for each access node generally distribute the interference across the system, and provide better interference reduction, resulting in an increase in system capacity per sector of each cell.

  • Patent number: 10051542
Abstract: A computing system will detect when a UE engaged in a voice call hands over from a lower frequency coverage area to a higher frequency coverage area where it is raining, and the computing system will responsively take action to help improve the UE's communication quality, in an effort to help minimize the extent to which voice call quality will degrade as a result of the transition to the higher frequency where it is raining. In particular, per the disclosure, the computing system could respond to this scenario by causing the target base station to use a more robust wireless transmission mode than the source base station was using to serve the UE.
