The method includes: receiving a schedule of content at a client operable by the viewer, the schedule of content including a directed graph, the directed graph including a plurality of nodes, wherein each node in the plurality of nodes is connected to one or more other nodes in the plurality of nodes by one or more paths, wherein each path represents content presentable to the viewer; traversing the directed graph by following a route between nodes and along paths of the directed graph, wherein at each node the client determines a path to follow according to state information accessible by the client; and presenting content to the viewer as each path is followed.

Abstract: A system comprising a decoder arrangement to decode a plurality of video sequences including a first video sequence and a second video sequence, each of the video sequences including a plurality of frames including a first plurality of reference frames and a second plurality of non-reference frames, a selector operationally connected to the decoder arrangement, the selector being operative to select which of the video sequences is outputted to a display device for display, wherein during at least some of the time while the decoder arrangement is decoding the second video sequence which is selected for output to the display device, the decoder arrangement is operative to selectively decode the first video sequence, and then the selector is operative to switch to selecting the first video sequence for outputting to the display device for display. The method comprises: receiving, in a hardware device connected in operation to a computer, encrypted, encoded video content; decrypting the encrypted, encoded video content to form decrypted, encoded video content; decoding a first portion of the decrypted, encoded video content to form a decrypted, decoded video content portion; re-encrypting the decrypted, decoded video content portion to form a re-encrypted, decoded video content portion; re-encrypting a second portion of the decrypted, encoded video content to form a re-encrypted, encoded video content portion; and outputting the re-encrypted, decoded video content portion and the re-encrypted, encoded video content portion to the computer.

Abstract: A system for displaying electronic program guide information about a plurality of video items on a screen, the system including a display module to display a plurality of pages layering into the screen, each of the pages including a plurality of graphical panels associated with the video items, and a user input module to receive a user input to turn at least one of the pages such that the at least one page is peeled away from other ones of the pages in order to bring the graphical panels of the at least one page in or out of view, wherein the display module is operative to show the turning of the at least one page bringing the at least one page in or out of view. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for separating materials, such as fluff and plastic found in disposable diapers. A separator unit is provided having an inlet for receiving the materials, means for separating the materials, and multiple outlets for each of the respective materials. In one aspect, the system is substantially pneumatic, and air is used to separate the materials. In some aspects, a shredder is provided for shredding the materials prior to separating, and balers are provided for baling each of the respective materials.

Abstract: A method for producing an auxiliary video stream arranged for reverse trick mode playback from a video stream including a plurality of uni-directional predicted frames, the method including producing the auxiliary video stream by performing the following steps copying each uni-directional predicted frame included in the video stream into a memory, thereby producing a plurality of copied frames in the memory, replacing each one of the plurality of copied frames with one corresponding supplemental frame, thereby producing a plurality of corresponding supplemental frames, and producing a copy of the video stream arranged in reverse processing order, the producing a copy including replacing each frame which corresponds to one of the plurality of copied frames with the one corresponding supplemental frame from among the plurality of corresponding supplemental frames. Abstract: A system and method providing for a service provider, acting as agent for one or more community banks to offer indexed certificates of deposit (ICDs) at an upfront, fixed cost, which have the benefits of an upside return opportunity, no downside risk, and FDIC insurance for qualified accounts. Customers' funds are deposited with the banking institution, then a portion of the funds are directed through an escrow agent to a hedge provider in exchange for an option to pay the portion of the appreciation of the index, if any, on the ICDs. At maturity, the hedge provider pays the proportionate appreciation, if any, to the escrow agent, who in turn sends the appropriate portion of the appreciation to the participating bank institutions. The bank institutions then forward the appreciation, along with the initial purchase price of the ICDs, on to the customer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining visually noticeable differences between two input images. A first contrast image is generated from the first input image and a second contrast image is generated from the second input image. A contrast difference image is then formed from the two contrast images. A mean absolute difference is calculated between blocks of pixels of the first and second input image. Pixels in the contrast difference image which exceed a first threshold produce a first threshold signal and if the mean absolute difference exceeds a second threshold so a second threshold signal is produced. A detection signal is produced from the threshold signals.
