  • Patent number: 9562823
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods, computer program products, and computer systems are described for determining cylinder health characteristic in a reciprocating piston engine of the type including a piston-cylinder assembly and a crankshaft. The piston-cylinder assembly includes a cylinder and a piston configured to translate within the cylinder as the crankshaft rotates. In one embodiment, the computer-implemented method includes rotating the crankshaft in a first direction, while generating a first data set comprising a first plurality of piston position measurements and corresponding pressure indicator measurements. The crankshaft is further rotated in a second opposing direction, while a second data set is generated comprising a second plurality of piston position measurements and corresponding pressure indicator measurements. A symmetric aspect between the first and second data sets is then identified and utilized to determining a cylinder health characteristic for the piston-cylinder assembly.

  • Patent number: 9456683
Abstract: According to at least one exemplary embodiment, an article of furniture may be stabilized by one or more stretchers capable of contracting or extending to create a stabilizing force between the components of the furniture. The article of furniture may include a top surface member and a plurality of support members. The one or more stretchers may engage the support members, applying a stabilizing force. The furniture may be assembled and disassembled quickly and without the use of irreversible couplings such as nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.

  • Patent number: 9243571
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, computer program product, and computer system is described for identifying top dead center of a reciprocating piston. A piston is progressed in a first direction along a first piston stroke included in the cyclical motion, toward an expected top dead center position of the piston. A plurality of piston positions and corresponding pressure indicators are determined during the first-direction progression of the piston. The piston is progressed in a second direction along a second piston stroke included in the cyclical motion, toward the expected top dead center position of the piston. A plurality of piston positions and corresponding pressure indicators are determined during the second-direction progression of the piston. One or more symmetric aspects of the first- and second-direction data are determined, and an updated top dead center position is determined based upon, at least in part, the symmetric aspects.

  • Patent number: 8095403
Abstract: A system and method are provided for the comprehensive provision of maintenance related information and products to a client. By one approach, item information is received from a client regarding at least one of a plurality of disparate items. The method also includes receiving manufacturer information regarding the plurality of disparate items from information from manufacturers of the items. A selectively accessible database is created that includes at least in part the item information, the manufacturer information, and maintenance information derived at least in part from the manufacturer information relating to servicing at least one of the disparate items and/or to a product relating to at least one of the disparate items. The client is provided with access to the maintenance information stored on the selectively accessible database. The maintenance information can be accessed from brick and mortar hardware stores as well.

  • Publication number: 20110231260
Abstract: An online video advertising platform and marketplace. The present invention enables sellers to enhance the way they market products by providing them with a platform that uses location, images, product information, and Internet video. Because images and text are static and videos are dynamic, a seller can better represent their product and receive a better price and quicker sale as a result of the dynamic presentation. The marketplace uses both a database and “cloud computing” file storage system. So when a new user is created, there is both an entry in the database, and file structure with the username or other unique identifier in the file system. The database then stores pointers to these files. All listings are tied to a central product (listing) Id (PID). Videos can be searched for by both video and product related metrics. Videos file themselves are tagged with product metadata.

  • Publication number: 20100281224
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for prefetching content from incoming messages. A computer receives an incoming message containing one or more resource links. The computer may then determine if the resource links contained in the incoming message are likely to be accessed. In response to determining that one or more of the resource links are likely to be accessed, the logic determines if the target content of the resource link has previously been cached, and if any previously cached data is current. In response to determining that the requested content has not previously been cached, or is not current, the logic begins downloading the requested content for local consumption. When the cached content is requested, the cached data is provided to the user. Upon receiving requests for the cached content from other connected client terminals, the cached content may also be served to the other requesting client terminals.

  • Publication number: 20100269624
Abstract: The present invention is a supplemental handlebar for a handlebar controlled vehicle with a primary handlebar for a user and an optional additional user. The supplemental handlebar has an intermediate tube that is a base for the supplemental handlebar and a two piece clamp for attaching the supplemental handlebar and the intermediate tube to the primary handlebar using a plurality of bolts and screws and a handlebar extension. A handle and handle shield are adjustably attached to each end of the handlebar extension with a split tube coupling and a corresponding bolt. This unique design allows for independent adjustment of the lateral position, height and the angle of the axis of the grip and hand shield for optimization of the safety and comfort of the passenger which can include small children.
