  • Patent number: 11911182
Abstract: As an IV infiltration occurs and fluid leaks into surrounding tissues, several physiological changes are expected locally. The systems and methods described herein provide a scalable automated IV infiltration detection device to provide medical staff an early warning of a possible infiltration such that they can respond accordingly. The systems and methods capture the physiological state of the user at or around a peripheral catheter insertion site by incorporating one or more modalities of wearable sensing, processing the data collected from these wearable sensors, detecting the presence of extravascular fluid, and providing an indication to a medical professional.

  • Publication number: 20140095212
Abstract: Quality of Service (QOS) systems and methods to determine the likelihood that a packet of information transmitted by an OBD, mobile, or other telematics device meets user requirements for accuracy, reliability, and quality of data suitable for a driving performance product, such as, for example, the implementation and modification of a usage based insurance (UBI) or behavior based insurance (BBI) or self-insurance program. Methods are established for determining when and how to display data to each constituent, including policyholders, insurance actuaries, and insurance carrier customer service staff. The QOS data may also be provided to OEM and GPS device manufacturers for the purpose of improving the performance of their software and devices.

  • Patent number: 6771672
Abstract: An invention for detecting and suppressing bits of data present in a given communications environment. One exemplary embodiment allows the invention to suppress the signaling bits in a communications system that is using the GR-303 protocol. Another embodiment allows the invention to suppress any given bit which may be deterministically positioned for suppression. In a GR-303 environment, the invention suppresses signaling bits found to hamper older equipment that is still in service in the communications environment. The invention receives particular bit of the incoming word of data, which is compared to the particular bit of the previous word of data in the same phase (logically associated bits). If a transition or pattern is detected that indicates a specific signaling bit pattern presence, an integrator counts toward a user-defined maximum saturation value. At saturation, the invention suppresses the signaling bit that has been detected.
