  • Patent number: 12296282
Abstract: A system and method for extracting and separating botanical oils and compounds from botanical material without the use of solvents, having a vaporizing section which is further coupled to a centrifugal electrostatic precipitator for collection and segregation. The vaporizing section receives the botanical material through which a temperature-controlled inert gas is passed to evaporate specific vaporization temperature oils or compounds from the botanical material. The extracted vapor passes to the centrifugal electrostatic precipitator where the oil or compound is reduced back to the liquid state and is collected and segregated. The oils having the lower vapor temperature are collected first and the remaining oils are collected by specific and progressive vaporization temperature control.

  • Publication number: 20250067900
Abstract: Systems and techniques for wind estimation are presented herein, such as using Uncrewed Aircraft (UA). No on-board flow sensor is required, and the present subject matter does not require estimation of thrust or drag forces. For example, using only GPS (or another indicium of groundspeed) and orientation sensors, wind vectors in the Earth-fixed frame can be estimated during turning maneuvers. The “Wind-Arc” technique described herein was verified using simulation. Also, when applied to experimental flight test data, the technique works and follows both airspeed and wind speed trends.

  • Publication number: 20230002236
Abstract: A system and a method for producing silicon from a SiO2-containing material that includes solid SiO2. The method uses a reaction vessel including a first section and a second section in fluid communication with said first section. The method includes: heating the SiO2-containing material that includes the solid SiO2 to a SiO2-containing material that includes liquid SiO2, at a sufficient temperature to convert the solid SiO2 into the liquid SiO2; converting, in the first section, the liquid SiO2 into gaseous SiO2 that flows to the second section by reducing the pressure in the reaction vessel to a subatmospheric pressure; and reducing, in the second section, the gaseous SiO2 into liquid silicon using a reducing gas. The reducing of the pressure is performed over a continuous range of interim pressure(s) sufficient to evaporate contaminants from the SiO2-containing material, and removing by vacuum, the one or more evaporated gaseous contaminants.

  • Patent number: 10482501
Abstract: A system and method for directing self-targeted advertising to users who are interested in receiving it. A user creates or adopts one or more personas that define a number of characteristics that the user has or wants to be associated with. The characteristics of the personas can be used by advertisers to define members of a target audience. Each persona included in a target audience has an address or identifier to which ads are sent. In one embodiment, users are shown a user interface screen with icons representing a number of brands. The user provides input that indicates whether they have different opinions of the brands. Based on the input received, an estimate is made of the likelihood that the user has a number of characteristics. In one embodiment, the user can arrange the icons representing the brands on the user interface screen to indicate if the user likes or dislikes the brand.
