  • Patent number: 9869403
Abstract: A valve includes a valve housing having an interior chamber and an actuator housing in which an actuator is disposed. The actuator housing is secured with the valve housing. A shaft is coupled with a valve member and the actuator and extends within a bore between the interior chamber of the valve housing and the actuator. The valve includes at least one vent passage that has a first end that opens to the bore and a second end that opens to an exterior of the valve housing and actuator housing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 9, 2011
Date of Patent: January 16, 2018
    Assignee: Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation
Inventors: Jason Labrie, Kevin Arthur Roberg, Christopher McAuliffe, Donald E. Army
  • Patent number: 9279504
Abstract: A control valve includes particle and moisture accumulation inhibiting features. The control valve includes a piston that provides for pressure communication to a back cavity through a tortuous path that settles out particle matter carried within the airflow. Moreover, the piston includes drainage openings that direct moisture out of piston and away from the sealing surfaces.

  • Patent number: 8959927
Abstract: A pneumatically actuated valve includes a valve body, a pneumatic actuator, and a pitot tube. The valve body includes a valve disc positioned in a valve housing that defines a flow passage with a flow passage diameter. The pneumatic actuator rotates the valve disc in the valve housing. The pitot tube is connected to the pneumatic actuator and has a tip extending into the flow passage. The tip is spaced apart from the valve housing by at least 1/20 of the flow passage diameter. The tip is substantially free of downstream obstructions for a distance equal to at least ½ of the flow passage diameter when the valve is in an open position.

Date of Patent: February 24, 2015
    Assignee: Hamilton Sundstrand Corporation

  • Patent number: 8443833
Abstract: A valve is provided. The valve includes a flapper member. A barrel is coupled to the flapper member, the barrel having an interior volume and at least one movable vane within the interior volume. A shaft member is rotationally coupled to the barrel, the barrel having at least one stationary vane disposed within the interior volume.

  • Publication number: 20110061750
Abstract: A check valve has a valve seat defining an inner peripheral bore. A valve disc is positioned within said inner peripheral bore, and mounted for pivotal movement about a hinge axis. A first central plane separates the valve disc along a diameter, and a second central plane dividing the valve disc along a thickness. The hinge axis is offset from both of the central planes.
