For example, a method includes: receiving a request to create a data bucket from a client application, the request including a bucket template; generating a cryptographic key for the data bucket; generating the data bucket in a cloud platform based at least in part on the bucket template; associating the cryptographic key to the generated data bucket; generating metadata associated with the generated data bucket; and providing the metadata associated with the generated data bucket to the client application.
