  • Publication number: 20240289798
Abstract: Systems and methods to provide secure cryptographic authentication, verification, functionality access, and payments between contactless cards and communication devices are provided. An exemplary communication device includes a system on a chip and generates a communication field, displays a prompt to tap a contactless card on the communication device, reads the contactless card after entry into the communication field, performs an authentication of the contactless card, and after a successful authentication of the contactless card, and performs a payment transaction.

  • Publication number: 20220235732
Abstract: An elongate energy conversion device vertically oriented in a body of water with an oscillating core that converts wave movement into oscillating movement of a central housing, the housing including a set of ballscrews and threaded shafts which are then rotated and attached with generators to convert the rotational motion into electrical energy. The oscillating core is substantially enclosed by a movement resistant shell with a horizontally-extending heave plate which actuates the core depending on whether the oscillating core is being pulled upward from an attached float impacted by a wave crest or downward from an attached weight during a wave fall.

  • Patent number: 10383417
Abstract: A case is provided for holding one or more contact lenses. The case is configured to receive an inner pod, and the case includes an upper part and a lower part. The upper part is structured to move relative to the lower part from an open configuration wherein the upper and lower parts are at least partially separated to a closed configuration wherein the upper and lower parts are together. The upper part is also structured to move relative to the lower part from a disengaged position to an engaged position wherein, in the disengaged position, the case is movable between the open and closed configurations and in the engaged position, the case is locked in the closed configuration.

  • Patent number: 9886558
Abstract: A system and method for creating a unique alias associated with an individual identified in a health care database such that health care data, and particularly pharmaceutical-related data, can be efficiently gathered and analyzed. The system has a first store for storing at least one record where each record includes a plurality of identification fields which when concatenated uniquely identify an individual, and at least one health care field corresponding to health care data associated with the individual. The system also has a second data store, and a processor. The processor selects a record of the first data store, then selects a subset of the plurality of identification fields within the selected record, and concatenates the selected subset of identification fields. Then the processor stores the concatenated identification fields in a record in the second store with at least one health care field from the selected record of the first data store.

  • Publication number: 20150007831
Abstract: An oral appliance and accompanying tray is provided, where the oral appliance is fitted to the posterior teeth of the upper jaw and a connecting portion extends between the left and right sides of the mouth, with the connecting portion custom-fitted to contact the palate at or near the palatal nerve to reduce appetite. The present tray has a compressible member configured to closely form the connecting portion to the palatal arch. Further, the tray has flexible ends that are configured to bend up towards the gums and guide the oral appliance to fit the buccal side of the teeth. The tray may include a series of protrusions on the occlusal landing areas to prevent the user from biting through the oral appliance.

  • Publication number: 20090314484
Abstract: A standalone flow rate controller for controlling flow rate of cooling or heating fluid through a heat exchanger by providing a control signal to a flow valve actuator so as to open or close a flow valve in response thereto. A first temperature sensor measures an entry temperature of the cooling or heating fluid flowing into the heat exchanger and a second temperature sensor measures an exit temperature of the cooling or heating fluid flowing out of the heat exchanger. A control unit is responsive to a temperature difference between the entry temperature and the exit temperature for adjusting the control signal so as maintain the temperature difference substantially constant.

  • Publication number: 20070076505
Abstract: A method of providing communications over a medium voltage power line having a plurality of segments is provided. In one embodiment, the method comprises the steps of determining a first amplification for data signals, receiving a first data signal from a first segment of the power line, amplifying said first data signal via the first amplification, coupling the amplified first data signal to a second segment of the power line with a first amplification power, receiving user data; and transmitting the user data over the second segment of the power line with a transmission power substantially the same as the first amplification power. In addition, the step of determining may comprises receiving a signal from the first segment of the power line, determining a target amplification based on the received signal, determining a maximum amplification; and wherein said first amplification is substantially equal to the lesser of the target amplification and the maximum amplification.
