Patent number: 11957481Abstract: Disclosed are a joint manipulation device and system for increasing the range of motion of a joint of a user, and monitoring the compliance of the user's operation of the joint manipulation device to standards or guidelines set by a monitoring entity. Certain sensors associated with the joint manipulation device may cause an indicator to transmit an alert to the user based on whether or not the device is sufficiently engaged with a limb or joint of the user to be considered in compliance. Additionally, progress data associated with the range of motion of the user's joint may be obtained by a sensor assembly and transmitted to one or more systems associated with the device system. Progress data obtained during a period of non-compliant use of the device may be excluded from the transmitted data, thereby generating a set of compliant progress data for accurate analysis of device effectiveness.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: ERMI LLCInventors: Shaun Kevin Stinton, Edward Dittmar, Thomas P. Publication number: 20240065917Abstract: A device for manipulating a user's hand a wrist portion and forearm portion, each having proximal and distal ends. A pivoting connection is operatively coupled with the proximal end of the wrist portion and distal end of the forearm portions such that the wrist portion is pivotally coupled to the forearm portion. The device has a first actuator operatively coupled to the wrist portion and a second actuator operatively coupled to the pivoting connection. The first actuator is configured to apply a rotational force to a hand support coupled to the wrist portion, thereby producing either supination or pronation of a user's wrist. The second actuator is configured to apply a rotational force to the pivoting connection, thereby producing either flexion, extension, abduction, or adduction of a user's wrist, depending upon whether the user's hand is palm-side down or in a thumb's up position.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Shaun Kevin Stinton, Thomas P. Branch, Ed Dittmar, Jared Dittmar

Patent number: 7634893Abstract: A packaging system for hydrating sterile devices without comprising the integrity of the sterilization. The packaging system may include an enclosure for enclosing a device requiring hydration, a container containing a hydrate, a base located within the interior of the enclosure and an activating member located within the interior of the enclosure. The container and the device may be located within a receptacle. The receptacle may rest on the base and the activating member may be affixed on top of the receptacle. A force may be exerted on an exterior portion of the enclosure such that the activating member pushes on the receptacle and crushes or ruptures the container. The hydrate located within the container is then released to the device, thereby hydrating the device without breaking the seal of the enclosure. The sterilized environment is therefore maintained and the device is hydrated.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2008Date of Patent: December 22, 2009Assignee: Medtronic MiniMed, Inc.Inventors: Rebecca Gottlieb, Aaron Swanson, Bahar Reghabi, Kevin Branch

Publication number: 20050071759Abstract: An imaging system comprises a client device with a display unit, a server controller, stored document information, document modification methods, an imaging device, and documents to be imaged. A user of the client device requests a particular stored document to be displayed on the display unit. The server receives the client request and creates a first user interface for the user to view the stored document and to either accept or request modification to the displayed document. If the user requests modification to the displayed document, the server creates a second user interface for the user to communicate to the imaging system a desired modification to be made in the displayed document. The server determines the best means to address the request, modifies the document, and stores the document information for subsequent use.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2003Publication date: March 31, 2005Inventors: Thomas Connors, Matthew Coene, Kevin Branch, Raju Vegiraju
