  • Publication number: 20240078846
Abstract: This document describes techniques and systems that enable grid-based enrollment for face authentication. The techniques and systems include overlaying a three-dimensional (3D) tracking window over a preview image of the user's face displayed via a display device. The 3D tracking window includes a plurality of segments, which persist to correspond to an approximate direction that the user's face is facing. Based on the tracking, segments are highlighted to indicate the approximate direction that the user's face is facing, a camera captures enrollment images of the user's face facing that direction, and embeddings are generated based on the enrollment images and stored in a fixed grid of pose cells corresponding to various facial poses for use in face authentication. Responsive to generation and storage of the embeddings, an indication that the one or more segments are completed is provided.

  • Publication number: 20230313095
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to a system for harvesting biomass, usable to manufacture biofuel, from discrete biomass receptacles in which the biomass has been cultivated. The system can include multiple harvesters disposed at least in part vertically above the receptacles and configured to simultaneously harvest the biomass from the receptacles. Each of the harvesters can include: multiple harvesting baskets configured to be lowered from above the receptacles and into each of the receptacles; multiple sensors disposed to sense growth conditions within the harvesting baskets; and a controller configured to communicate with each sensor of the multiple sensors, and based on data received from the sensors, configured to control harvesting patterns of each harvester to enhance biomass material growth within the receptacles.

  • Publication number: 20230313096
Abstract: Some embodiments are directed to an apparatus for forming discrete biomass receptacles from a base material that is created via cultivating or processing algae for biofuel production. The apparatus includes a supplier to supply heat softened biomaterial; a rotatable molder to receive the heat softened biomaterial that includes a heated hollow mold; a rotator configured to rotate the rotatable molder; and a controller configured to control the rotator to rotate the heated hollow mold such that the heat softened biomaterial disperses and adheres to walls of the heated hollow mold, the controller also being configured to control the rotator to continue rotating the heated hollow mold as the heat softened biomaterial cools so as to impede sagging and deformation of the biomass receptables being formed, such that the receptacles that are formed are configured to house algae via at least one of the cultivating and processing of the algae.

  • Patent number: 11490714
Abstract: A rotary auger support stand for holding objects such as decoys above the ground. The auger support stand includes at least one rod of longitudinal support member or shaft. The rotary auger anchor comprises a helical coil for screwing that end of the stake into the ground. handle means such as an S-shaped handle provides a crank handle for rotatably screwing the anchor into the ground or at least two opposing legs extend perpendicular from and between the shaft and auger forming a base. The distal end of opposing legs are bent upward perpendicular from the ground or bent upward and inwardly at an acute angle toward the shaft forming handles for rotating the auger into the ground. The transverse legs extending from the elongated support pole provides a base bearing against the ground for increased lateral support. • Patent number: 10440946
Abstract: A decoy for holding decoys in position to attract waterfowl or game birds such as doves or ducks. The stake may comprise a single shaft or multiple shaft portions that are fixed together by a connection means such as a pin extending thorough coaxial sections. The shaft includes a helical coil at the bottom end for fixedly screwing that end of the stake into the ground. A central rod defining a shaft includes an integral S-shaped handle providing a crank handle for screwing the shaft into the ground. A decoy holding means such as a sleeve or receiver extends from a top distal end of the shaft and a pair of opposing decoy holding means such as sleeves or receivers can extend upward and/or outward at selected angles from the upper portion of the support shaft for supporting cross members having additional decoys mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 10342290
Abstract: A modified shoe that allows the forefoot to extend, creating an everted forefoot in relation to an inverted heel. This action of the foot creates a higher and contracted medial arch. The force of the first metatarsophalangeal joint and first phalange pushing against the ground tilts the rest of the foot at a slight angle to the lateral side, creating supination. The modified shoe also incorporates a unique process of pre-stretching forefoot flex grooves that will allow for a more efficient hinge at the metatarsophalangeal joints. This allows for the several biomechanical changes to a person's gait pattern. This shoe will allow for people to walk with a more natural gait pattern, and not the gait pattern that many people have adopted due to restrictive footwear. This shoe will be ideal for people with forefoot varus, and will have benefits for people with a neutral foot as well.

  • Patent number: 10247245
Abstract: A halfshaft assembly in a vehicle is disclosed. The halfshaft assembly includes a hub and a mating universal joint, such as a constant-velocity joint. The hub has a plurality of hub-teeth arranged annularly about an axis. The constant-velocity joint has a plurality of joint-teeth arranged annularly about the axis and engaged with the hub-teeth. Between each joint-tooth is a joint-root. The top, outermost surface of each tooth facing away from adjacent roots extends at a first angle with respect to the central axis. The root extends at a second angle with respect to the central axis. The angles are different such that the height of the tooth varies along the same tooth along the length of the tooth. Each tooth has involute side surfaces. The joint-teeth form a conical or inverse-conical shape.

  • Patent number: 10064478
Abstract: A feeder stand including a rotary ground auger and base holds a feeder above the ground. An upright elongated rod defines a stand supported by an auger having helical coils removably screwed into the ground. A platform such as a round disc, or wire mesh platform is supported on the top distal end of the rod. At least two opposing legs extend perpendicular to the vertical elongated rod and auger forming a base. The distal end of selected opposing legs are bent or angled upward perpendicular from the ground forming handles for rotating the auger into the ground. The portion of the legs extending outward normal to the elongated support pole provides a base bearing against the ground for increased lateral support.
