  • Publication number: 20240010083
Abstract: Charging stations for electric vehicles may include arms that extend from a structure to allow easy deployment of a charging plug to a charging receptacle on an electric vehicle. The arms may be pivotally connected to the structure. Charging cables may be attached to the arms by a break away construction. Arms may include mechanical fuses that deform or break when excessive forces are applied to the arms. These features of construction can help to protect the charging station and charging cable from damage. Charging stations may include other features including lighting, motion sensors, cameras, and suspended plug cradles.

  • Patent number: 9554812
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for integrating an electromagnetic navigation system and a tool and aligning the tool with a target are presented, including a sensor tool, a tool, a field generator, a display, and a computer. The sensor tool attaches to a target component in a unique position relative to target features. The field generator is fixed relative to the tool except in rotation about a tool axis. The display is adjustably mounted to the tool and automatically adjusts image parameters. Target registration and error compensation methods are provided. The system detects magnetic field and signal disturbances that may lead to inaccurate navigation, filters navigation data, and adjusts filtering parameters based on detected conditions. Apparatus for proximally locking an IM nail such that a clear passage through the cannulation of the nail is maintained are provided.

  • Patent number: 8548559
Abstract: A method for locating a guide wire axis on a femoral neck comprises the steps of tracking a position and orientation of a femur; registering a frame of reference with respect to the position and orientation of the femur from a first registration probe mounted onto the femur in a predetermined configuration, the frame of reference having preoperative planned data pertaining to the femoral neck; digitizing femoral neck data with respect to the position and orientation of the femur from a second registration probe positioned onto the femoral neck at desired orientations; calculating a position and orientation of the guide wire axis with respect to the position and orientation of the femur as a function of the preoperative planned data and the femoral neck data.

  • Patent number: 6746470
Abstract: A pneumatic tourniquet adapted for self application by an injured person in a military or emergency situation to stop arterial blood loss in an injured arm or leg comprises: a bladder having a width dimension and having a length dimension greater than the circumference of an injured limb of a subject at a selected location; and clamp means for securing the bladder around the limb at the selected location and adapted for sealing the bladder across the bladder width to establish an inflatable portion of the bladder to be the portion of the bladder that encircles the injured limb at the selected location.

  • Patent number: 6682547
Abstract: A low cost tourniquet cuff with identification apparatus comprises: an outer strip; an inner strip positioned against the outer strip; a gas-tight seal joining the inner strip to the outer strip to form a cuff having a physical characteristic wherein the cuff includes an inflatable bladder of a predetermined length greater than the circumference of a limb at a selected location; and a cuff connector carried on the cuff and communicating pneumatically with the bladder for releasably connecting to a tourniquet instrument to establish a gas-tight passageway between the bladder and the instrument, wherein the cuff connector includes identification means indicative of the physical characteristic and detectable by the tourniquet instrument upon establishment of the gas-tight passageway.
