  • Aircraft wing pylon extensions for minimized aerodynamic penalties

    Abstract: A wing mounted pylon for an aircraft in which the pylon can be maintained in a desired maximum thickness consistent with structural and accessory and equipment space requirement but with substantially zero aerodynamic penalties. The maximum parallel thickness extends over at least a portion of the pylon length and is then maintained beyond the wing local trailing edge by means of a trailing edge extension fairing.
