  • Patent number: 5949039
Abstract: An interlock switch access control apparatus controls access to an interlock switch (12) positioned in a cavity (14) in a housing (16). The interlock switch access control apparatus includes a plate (32) for sliding above the cavity (14) in a slot (30) in the housing (16), with the plate (32) having a plurality of apertures (38, 40). A detent (34) is positioned in a first aperture (38) of the plate (32) for fixing the position of the plate (32) in a first position over the cavity (14) to cover the interlock switch (12) to prevent access thereto. A resilient member such as a spring (48) applies a restoring force to the detent (34) to push the detent (34) toward the plate (32). The resilient member pushes the detent (34) toward and through the first aperture (38) when the plate (32) is positioned with the first aperture (38) in a longitudinal path of the detent (34).

  • Patent number: 5934625
Abstract: A keyboard caddy positions a keyboard on a top cover of a machine such as a copier. The keyboard caddy includes a pair of rails and a caddy base. The pair of rails have slots and are mounted upon the top cover. The caddy base includes a planar surface upon which the keyboard is positioned; a plurality of side walls between which the keyboard is positioned; and a pair of protrusions extending from a pair of the side walls and slidably engaging the slots of the rails to allow the caddy base to be moved to a selectable one of a plurality of positions relative to the top cover of the copier. The keyboard caddy holds the keyboard on the copier when the top cover is opened and/or pivoted. The keyboard caddy has diverse selectable positions by being movable to provide ease of use for different users.

  • Patent number: 5884132
Abstract: A copier has a plurality of paper trays for holding paper, and a housing having a front surface as cabinetry with shape-based indicators. The front surface includes a plurality of access panels adjacent to the paper trays, with each access panel allowing access to a respective paper tray, and each access panel has a curved exposed surface extending from the front surface. Each access panel includes a flat exposed surface extending from the respective access panel and having output indicators for indicating status conditions of a set of copying components.

  • Patent number: 4922247
Abstract: An encoder is rigidly mounted to a component shaft and allowed to float with it, saving the expense of a flexible coupling and improving accuracy. An easily assembled detent prevents rotation of the encoder housing with the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4728981
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for locating an imaging lens array formed of a plurality of gradient index optical fibers on a print head having a linear array of light sources, such that the light sources are readily spaced from a photosensitive surface a distance equal to the total conjugate of the imaging lens array and the optical fibers are accurately spaced from the light sources in a direction along their optical axes so as to be midway between the light sources and the photosensitive surface.

  • Patent number: 4715682
Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for mounting an imaging lens array formed of a plurality of gradient index optical fibers onto a print head having a linear array of light sources, such that the optical fibers are accurately spaced from and aligned with the light sources. The apparatus includes attachment means for totally constraining one end of the imaging lens array relative to the print head and for constraining the other end of the imaging lens array to inhibit movement of the lens in two directions, while permitting at least limited relative movement between the imaging lens and the print head in a direction along the length of the light source array to accommodate different rates of thermal expansion of the imaging lens array and of the print head.

  • Patent number: 4709972
Abstract: A cabinet for storing a computer keyboard includes a slidable tray with dust cover door. When the tray is slid to its open position providing access to the keyboard the dust cover door may be pivoted to an orientation wherein the inside of the door is positioned to support the wrists or hands of the operator.
