  • Patent number: 9700241
Abstract: A system for gait analysis may include a mobile data recording device configured to record accelerations associated with user motion and a data processing device in communication with the mobile data recording device. The data processing device can be configured to receive acceleration data from the mobile data recording device and process the acceleration data to extract stride data sequences from the acceleration data through use of bounding boxes on one or more points of the acceleration data. Each of the stride data sequences comprising data for a corresponding stride. The bounding boxes may define time and acceleration bounds. The data processing system may further determine one or more stride metrics. According to one embodiment, the data recording device may be a smartphone or other device having an accelerometer with a limited range that is inadequate to capture the full range of accelerations experienced by a runner.

  • Publication number: 20160313018
Abstract: An HVAC system may include a VAV box including a damper movable between a first damper position and a second damper position and an HVAC controller that is mounted remotely from the VAV box. The HVAC controller may be configured to control the VAV box in accordance with a temperature set point entered into the HVAC controller and may be programmed with a test and balance procedure. In some cases, the HVAC controller may also be programmed with functionality that facilitates an installer or other technician in configuring and/or reconfiguring the VAV box. This may include providing a user interface that supports a test and balance procedure of the VAV box. Such functionality may be user-accessible via the user interface of the HVAC controller, and in some cases, may be used to drive the damper of the VAV box between various damper positions as well as perform other functionality.

  • Publication number: 20080313007
Abstract: A system for scheduling an in-home appliance repair service is disclosed. The system receives inputs from a user via a client device. The inputs are used to identify one or more home appliances in need of repair. For example, the user may have a clogged dishwasher. Data identifying the appliance is then transmitted to a repair scheduling server. The repair scheduling server executes a program which determines a plurality of available repair time slots and transmits a list of choices to the client device for display. The available repair time slots may depend on the type of appliance, the brand of the appliance, the particular model, the user's identify, and/or the geographical location of the appliance. Preferably, time slots are dynamically determined in cooperation with a plurality of service providers. Once the user selects a timeslot, the service is confirmed and scheduled.

  • Publication number: 20070164156
Abstract: A method of providing power and/or data to a seat in a seating area. A power distribution system having a continuous power bus is used to supply power and/or data to seats in a mobile platform or fixed structure. The power distribution system generally includes a bus strip that, in a mobile platform, extends along a length of a passenger cabin and a connector operable to provide a connection between the bus strip and the passenger seats. Power and/or data can be transmitted between the bus strip and the passenger seats, via the connector, at any point along the bus strip, thus eliminating the need to run separate connections between the power and/or data source and each seat.

  • Publication number: 20070018045
Abstract: A system for communicating electrical signals between two spaced apart seat assemblies on a mobile platform, for example an aircraft. The seat assemblies are secured to seat tracks mounted on a floor of the aircraft cabin. The seat tracks have a plurality of spaced apart holes that enable seat assembly mounting. A seat track cover is snap-fit onto one or more seat track mount devices. Each of the seat track mount devices includes one or more cleats or knobs that can be snap fit into the openings in the seat track to quickly and easily secure the seat track cover to the seat track. The seat track cover and mount devices enable a simple, planar seat track having spaced apart holes to be employed, rather than a C-shaped seat mounting track.
