  • Patent number: 12042051
Abstract: A pillow position maintainer is provided. A harness is provided to affix to an object such as a chair or mattress. The harness has a loop and can have two adjustment straps. A hanger is provided with a shell and core. It also can have two fastener straps. The fastener strap(s) is removably connectable to the adjustment strap(s) and are connected to the shell. The position of the shell is adjustable with respect to the object via adjustment of the adjustment straps. The shell has a channel with a slot and a cavity. The channel is open to both ends of the shell. The inside of the cavity can have surfaces that are flat, such as a hexagon. The core is a compressible core. The core can be positioned inside a pillow case, and then be inserted into the cavity with the pillow case passing through the slot.

  • Publication number: 20230330725
Abstract: In a system and process, organic waste is treated in a reactor to volatilize contaminants such as Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds and/or Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) from the organic waste. Biochar may have reduced or undetectable PFAS compounds or CECs. Most or all of the gas may be thermally oxidized to convert PFAS compounds and/or CECs into less harmful and/or less toxic products or elemental compounds, which may be further removed. Energy may be recovered from one or more parts of the herein described system and process.

  • Publication number: 20200171556
Abstract: Waste, such as municipal solid waste (MSF) or a portion of MSW, is separated into a wet fraction and rejects in a press. The press produces a wet fraction and rejects. The wet fraction may be treated, for example by anaerobic digestion or compost to thereby divert waste from landfill. The waste is pre-treated by spraying water at high pressure against the waste while moving or mixing the waste. The pre-treatment increases the amount of cellulosic material, such as paper or cardboard, that passes into the wet fraction.

  • Patent number: 9770471
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of transdifferentiation of somatic cells, for example, directly converting a somatic cell of a first cell type, e.g., a fibroblast into a somatic cell of a second cell type, are described herein. In particular, the present invention generally relates to methods for converting a somatic cell, e.g., a fibroblast into a motor neuron, e.g., an induced motor neuron (iMN) with characteristics of a typical motor neuron. The present invention also relates to an isolated population comprising induced motor neurons (iMNs), compositions and their use in the treatment of motor neuron diseases such as ALS and SMA. In particular, the present invention relates to direct conversion of a somatic cell to an induced motor neuron (iMN) having motor neuron characteristics by increasing the protein expression of at least three motor-neuron inducing (MN-inducing) factors selected from Lhx3, Ascl1, Brn2, Myt1l, Isl1, Hb9, Ngn2 or NeuroD1 in a somatic cell, e.g.
