  • Publication number: 20070122193
Abstract: An imaging system includes a plurality of imaging engines each comprising a photoreceptor belt having a belt seam. A sensor determines a relative position of a first photoreceptor belt of a first one of the imaging engines relative to a second photoreceptor belt seam of a second one of the imaging engines. A controller controls a motor speed of one or more motors driving the photoreceptor belts, wherein an output of the sensor comprises a basis for adjustment of the motor by the controller for relative synchronizing of the first and second belts to avoid skipping pitches in one of the imaging engines due to relative belt seam positions.

  • Publication number: 20070072549
Abstract: A method for reducing electromagnetic emissions in an electronic device having a multiple micro-controllers includes identifying the number of micro-controllers installed in the electronic device. An operating frequency range of the electronic device is determined based on the operating frequency range of each micro-controller. A frequency spacing for each micro-controller within the operating frequency range of the electronic device is then calculated, and an operating frequency is assigned to each micro-controller. The operating frequency of each micro-controller is separated from the operating frequency of each other micro-controller by at least the frequency spacing. Then, the operating frequency of each micro-controller is set at the assigned operating frequency.

  • Publication number: 20060244404
Abstract: A system for reducing torque disturbance includes a motor mechanically coupled to an endless belt. The motor is operable to drive the belt, and the belt has a seam that causes a torque disturbance to the system. The system includes a data structure having a set of values that indicates an amount of compensation for reducing the torque disturbance and a controller electrically coupled with the motor. The controller is configured to control the motor and reduce the torque disturbance based on the set of values in the data structure.

  • Publication number: 20050140327
Abstract: A method for detecting a state of an electric motor includes: energizing the motor with electrical power such that an associated current applied to the electric motor rises over time toward a reference level; determining an amount of time that elapses between when the motor is energized and the reference level is reached; and, evaluating a state of the motor based upon the determined amount of time.

  • Publication number: 20050067771
Abstract: A method and system for correcting paper registration skew. A skew or paper registration error of a sheet moving in a feed path is detected. A coarse adjustment, or copy paper registration, using full steps is performed until the registration error is reduced to a minimum value, below a full step. The frequency of one motor with respect to the other, or a reference, or reference motors, is adjusted for a fixed period to enable a fine adjustment to correct the registration error.
