Patent number: 11105342Abstract: A tool for removal of a bushing (such as a bushing of a variable stator vane assembly of a compressor) is provided. The tool includes a cylindrical housing, a lead screw, a threaded nut, and a pulling module with puller arms to engage the bushing. The housing defines a longitudinal axis along which the lead screw extends. The lead screw is rotatably secured within the cylindrical housing by a threaded nut engaged with the lead screw. The pulling module is removably attached to the threaded nut, such that the lead screw passes through the threaded nut before passing through the pulling module. The pulling module is provided with a pair of oppositely disposed puller arms, and each puller arm is provided with a hook portion having an engagement tab configured to engage a respective notch on the bushing. A method of removing the bushing using the tool is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: May 15, 2018Date of Patent: August 31, 2021Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Aaron David Williamson, Bruce Clark Busbey, Kevin Clement Metz, Cleveland Clifford Matthew Joseph, Jr., Bhushan Suhas Thatte

Patent number: 9753798Abstract: A method and system for automatically auditing an electronic component design process comprising a plurality of design steps. The method includes: extracting, optionally in parallel and in a single pass, a plurality of non-error data types from obtained electronic component design information to produce one or more summary files; and determining whether an audit failure exists in a current design step of the plurality of design steps based on a comparison of the one or more summary files with one or more stored failure indicators. The one or more stored failure indicators comprising a plurality of non-error triggers associated with later failures. The present disclosure simplifies the organization of the gathered data to prevent the automated electronic design process from generating an inferior design, which wastes time of both human and computing resources.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2015Date of Patent: September 5, 2017Assignee: MICROSEMI SOLUTIONS (U.S.), INC.Inventors: Jon Haldorson, Joseph Rhodes, Gwyneth Morrison, Kevin Clements

Patent number: 9143721Abstract: Content preparation systems and methods are disclosed that generate scenes used by an interactive role performance system for inserting a user image as a character in the scene. Original media content from a variety of sources, such as movies, television, and commercials, can provide participants with a wide variety of scenes and roles. In some examples, the content preparation system removes an original character from the selected media content and recreates the background to enable an image of a user to be inserted therein. By recreating the background after removing the character, the user is given greater freedom to perform, as the image of the user can perform anywhere within the scene. Moreover, systems and methods can generate and store metadata associated with the modified media content that facilitates the combining of the modified media content and the user image to replace the removed character image.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2013Date of Patent: September 22, 2015Assignee: Noo Inc.Inventors: Anthony Gentile, John Gentile, Scott Wilker, Kevin Clement, Mark Waldrep
