  • Patent number: 10321942
Abstract: Compression screw systems for stabilizing and/or compressing bones of the extremities, characterized by a compression screw component and a hook component. The hook component is received on the compression screw component in any rotational position relative to the compression screw component in order to orient the hook component relative to a bone or bones requiring stabilization and/or compression. The hook component includes an anti-rotation feature, while a configured flange thereof provides a hook that extends about and overhangs a part of the bone. The compression screw component and the hook component may include cooperating structures that allow the hook component to attach to the compression screw component or allow the compression screw component to self-orientate with respect to the hook component upon compressing engagement of the compression screw head with the hook component. The configured flange of the hook component may terminate with a single, double or multiple tined prong.

  • Patent number: 5428530
Abstract: A novel airborne reactive threat simulator is presented. The simulator comprises an aircraft flight and carrier qualified podded external store and a cockpit mounted system control box. The pod is capable of supersonic flight envelopes and houses a sophisticated, state-of-the-art, microprocessor controlled, programmable tracking radar system and associated data collection peripherals. The control box provides the operator/machine interface during system operation. The system operates from a library of preprogrammed scenarios, which are selected by the pilot of the aircraft during routine training/testing exercises. A threat simulation scenario is selected by the pilot as the pilot flies a predetermined profile mission against a target ship. The software routine is executed by the microprocessing system which in turn controls all system hardware components and peripherals.

  • Patent number: 5119030
Abstract: Apparatus for determining the physical uniformity of a charged drum surface wherein current signals are induced in sensing electrodes in response to variation in drum surface charge. The sensing electrodes are on a detector assembly which is movable toward the drum for inspection of the surface and movable away from the drum after inspection when the drum is to be ejected from the apparatus. The detector assembly is movable through another degree of freedom to accommodate irregularities in drum geometry encountered during rotation thereof. The detector assembly also is provided with structure for maintaining a predetermined spacing of the sensing electrodes from the drum surface during relative movement therebetween. The drum is received, held, and rotated by co-operation between a drum retention assembly and a drum clamping mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4811016
Abstract: A clamping circuit clamps a threshold of an analog to digital converter (ADC) to a signal level just below the black level of a television signal.During the blanking period, a negative-going peak is superimposed on the input signal to produce the waveform. Each time this crosses the 0000,0001 threshold of the ADC, the polarity of the output of a comparator changes. The comparator compares the ADC output and a reference value. The input signal is biased according to the integral of the comparator output. When signal levels are stable, the comparator output is symmetrical, its integral is zero and no change occurs in the biasing. If signal levels drift, the negative going peak crosses the threshold for a second time relatively sooner or later. The comparator output becomes assymmetric and has a non-zero integral. Consequently, the biasing level changes to compensate for the drift.

  • Patent number: 4711482
Abstract: A reaching aid for handicapped or elderly people which is built into a rod or cane having a pair of jaws at one end. The jaws are actuated by a small electric motor concealed in the rod, and controlled by a switch in the handle of the cane. The rod may be telescoping to allow for adjustment of length.
