    Abstract: An artificial log assembly includes an artificial log and a fuel supply. The artificial log is a non-flammable material. The artificial log has an outer wall defining a main portion rounded about and elongated along an axis and a branch portion extending from the main portion transverse to the main portion. The artificial log has a cavity extending along the main portion and from the main portion into the branch portion. Slits extend through the outer wall to the cavity. A fuel supply is in the cavity. The fuel supply includes a main pipe elongated along the axis in the cavity along the main portion and a branch pipe extending from the main pipe in the cavity along the branch portion. Fuel outlets are along the main pipe and are spaced along the axis. At least one of the fuel outlets extends from the branch pipe.

    Abstract: A multifocal lens has an upper distance vision zone which is divided by a visible division from a distinct lower portion of the lens which includes an intermediate vision zone of progressively increasing dioptric power which leads into a near vision zone. The visible division is provided by an abrupt change in dioptric power in the range from about 0.5 dioptres to about 0.5 dioptres less than the difference between the constant dioptric powers of the near vision zone and the distance vision zone.
