Abstract: An electrical anti-theft device for a motor vehicle issues an audible alarm signal for a predetermined period of time in response to tampering with the vehicle which is sensed by the anti-theft device. At the end of the predetermined period of time, a strobe light is activated and operates continuously thereafter to indicate that the vehicle has been tampered with. At the same time, the electrical anti-theft device is reset so as to issue the alarm signal in response to further tampering with the vehicle. The electrical anti-theft device is incorporated in a mechanical anti-theft device mountable on a vehicle steering wheel to limit rotation thereof.

Abstract: A motor vehicle security device for protecting against the cutting of an automobile steering wheel which includes a protective member made of cut-resistant material for covering the steering wheel rim and a connector for attaching the protective member to the steering wheel rim. The protective member radially and circumferentially overlies the steering wheel rim to limit access to the rim and protect against cutting of the rim. The protective member is collapsible for convenient storage.

Abstract: A device is adapted for use primarily as a theft deterrent for bicycles, mopeds and other two and three wheeled self propelled or motorized conveyances, said device comprises a pair of opposed, telescopically engaging U-shaped members and locking means associated with said members, securing them from being forcibly pulled apart. The locking means typically includes the use of a pawl and ratchet arrangement for facilitating the engagement of the two members for securing them in locking relationship. The device also includes a compressible and extendible rubber or elastomeric boot preferably in the form of bellows. This boot provides a protective cover around ratchet teeth that are longitudinally spaced along one of the arms of the two U-shaped members. The boot progressively surrounds the ratchet teeth as the rod is disengaged or withdrawn from the sleeve.
