  • Publication number: 20150331969
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing a lighting control system layout for a site. The site includes a plurality of floors and a plurality of lighting control system components. In response to a request from a user for the lighting control system layout, a user interface may be provided. The user interface includes a three-dimensional representation of the site. The three-dimensional representation includes a plurality of layers representative of the plurality of floors and a plurality of icons representative of the plurality of lighting control system components. The user may, in turn, perform one or more actions in connection with the provided interface. In response, different and/or additional information about the site, particularly the lighting control system, may be provided in the user interface. The provided lighting control system layout allows users, such as, for example, site managers, to easily navigate, maintain, and mange a lighting control system for a site.

  • Publication number: 20150292688
Abstract: A lighting assembly comprises a base having a pair of sides and at least one light source coupled to the base, the at least one light source having a longitudinal axis. A diffuser cover is removably secured to the base and has an inside surface and an outside surface, the inside surface defining a volume in which the at least one light source is disposed. A substrate is disposed along an inside surface of the diffuser cover, such that each ray of light emitted from the at least one light source contacts the substrate. Upon contact with the substrate, diffusion of the at least one ray of light emitted from the at least one light source is increased, creating a wider distribution of light about the outside surface of the diffuser cover.

  • Publication number: 20150256963
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for configuring luminaires with transmitters that are capable of broadcasting signals via various short range communication protocols. According to aspects, the signals may uniquely identify the luminaires and may also be detectable by various electronic devices. Upon detecting a signal, an electronic device may identify the luminaire and retrieve data associated with the location of the luminaire. The electronic device may further enable various location-based features and services that improve a user's experience with the electronic device and the associated environment. By leveraging a lighting system setup for the transmitter network, costs associated with installing and modifying the transmitter are reduced.

  • Publication number: 20150163884
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for a lighting system and a method of installing a lighting system. According to certain aspects, a driver box is configured with a plurality of drivers secured therein. A series of wired connections can couple the plurality of drivers to a plurality of luminaires and can conduct electric power from the plurality of drivers to power the plurality of luminaires. According to aspects, the driver box and its plurality of drivers are located remote from the plurality of luminaires to enable efficient maintenance of the lighting system.

  • Publication number: 20150159852
Abstract: An electronic component includes a housing, a heat-generating component, a heat sink, and a sealing element. The housing is made of a first metallic material. The heat-generating component is disposed in the housing. The heat sink, which is made of a second metallic material, is disposed adjacent the heat-generating component and configured to dissipate heat from the heat-generating component. The sealing element is disposed between the housing and the heat sink and insulates the second metallic material from the first metallic material.

  • Publication number: 20150123563
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for commissioning a lighting system that includes a plurality of luminaires. According to certain aspects, an electronic device can, for each of the plurality of luminaires, connect to a luminaire and retrieve an identification of the luminaire. The electronic device can associate its location as the location of the luminaire, as well as prompt a user to associate a layout tag of existing layout data for the lighting system with the luminaire. The electronic device can transmit the commissioning data for the lighting system to a server for remote storage. The server enables remote access to the commissioning data by various electronic devices and users thereof.

  • Patent number: 8882532
Abstract: A driver box includes a housing and a connection mechanism disposed in the housing. The housing is adapted to removably receive a driver adapted to supply electric power to at least one luminaire. The connection mechanism includes an actuator, a first electrical connector configured to be connected to the driver, and a second electrical connector configured to be electrically connected to the at least one luminaire. The actuator is operatively coupled to the second electrical connector. The actuator is movable between an unlocked position, in which the second electrical connector is disengaged from the first electrical connector, and a locked position in which the second electrical connector is in mating engagement with the first electrical connector.

  • Publication number: 20120153840
Abstract: A cost effective illumination control system calculating motion and daylight or surrounding light inputs, particularly in large structures where the light distribution is not uniform across time. The system divides the structure into zones each having input capability with regard to occupation and background light levels. Each zone being able to make independent decisions with regard to control of lighting levels in the zone, yet the zones being able to cooperate in a coordinated fashion to provide uniform lighting to the structure as a whole.
