  • Patent number: 10826999
Abstract: A more efficient wireless network can utilize network elements, a service controller, and agents associated with the network elements. Each network element can publish state information and resource information so that other network elements and the service controller can readily identify which network element has available resources. Therefore, each network element can be a resource consumer and a resource provider. Additionally, the network elements can register with the service controller and/or allow agents to act on their behalf in order to generate a more efficient network.

  • Patent number: 10681204
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for separating sensitive data from mobile devices for theft prevention. According to one aspect, a system includes a data security platform and a mobile device platform. The mobile device platform can detect that the data security platform is connected. The mobile device platform can determine whether the data security platform is part of an authenticated pair with the mobile device platform. In response to determining that the data security platform is part of an authenticated pair with the mobile device platform, the mobile device platform can access at least a portion of sensitive data that is stored in a memory component of the data security platform. If the data security platform is disconnected from the mobile device platform, the mobile device platform cannot function or can provide limited functionality, such as a function to communication with a 9-1-1 service.

  • Patent number: 10660014
Abstract: Wireless communications services on a wireless communications device are selectively restricted in accordance with a location of the wireless device and specific permission and/or restrictions assigned to the wireless device while within/at the location. Services can be selectively blocked (denied), selectively modified, or selectively allowed on a wireless device based on lists indicating permissibility for specific services for specific devices at/within specific locations. A location can be a zone of coverage of a cellular tower, micro/pico/Femto cell or wireless access point, a sector of a zone of coverage, a geographic region within a zone of coverage, or any appropriate combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 10530506
Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses may use an unmanned vehicle to communicate an alert, such as an emergency alert, to a region, such as one affected by a natural disaster. A method may include receiving a message, which may comprise an alert and information associated with a region, from an alert originator. The message may then be transmitted, via a communication access device, to an unmanned vehicle. After receiving the message, the unmanned vehicle may travel to the region. Upon reaching the region, the unmanned vehicle may communicate the alert, whereby individuals' reception devices within the region may receive the alert.

  • Patent number: 10439981
Abstract: A communications device determines the appropriate method for providing a message depending upon the content of the message without prompting or querying a user of the device. When the user selects a name as the recipient of the created message, the mobile device determines delivery options. If the message contains text only and if the user enters/selects a mobile device phone number, the message is sent via SMS. If the message contains multimedia and if the user enters or selects a mobile device phone number, the message is sent via MMS. If the message is text only or multimedia, and if the user enters or selects an email address, the message is sent via email. In various implementations, the message is delivery via determined delivery options including a lowest cost delivery option, a subscriber preferred delivery option, or a delivery options as indicated by an intended recipient's presence information.

  • Patent number: 10123197
Abstract: A call to an emergency call center from a device is initiated utilizing a relay service. The device may send a non-voice message to the relay service. The relay service, upon receipt and analysis of the message, may initiate a call to the device. The device, upon receiving the call and determining that the call is from the relay service, may place the call on hold and initiate a call to an emergency call center. Subsequently, the device may establish a multi-party call between the device, the relay service, and the emergency call center. Further, the relay service may maintain multiple communications modes in order to conduct non-voice messages with the device and conduct voice communications with the emergency call center.

  • Patent number: 10051447
Abstract: A method, computer-readable medium, and apparatus for broadcasting a wireless emergency alert message are disclosed. For example, a method may include a processor receiving a request to broadcast a wireless emergency alert message, determining an anticipated increase in a network usage in response to broadcasting the wireless emergency alert message, determining that a capacity of the network will not be exceeded with the anticipated increase in the network usage, and broadcasting the wireless alert message in an alert area. In one example, the request comprises a type of alert, the alert area, and a message content. In one example, the wireless emergency alert message that is broadcast includes the message content in a format that deviates from a default format when it is determined that the capacity of the network will not be exceeded with the anticipated increase in the network usage.
