  • Publication number: 20030174825
Abstract: A calling telephone number information substitution mechanism employs an automated calling number substitution template to selectively modify ‘calling’ party number information that is transmitted to the called party. This serves to associate the calling party who has placed a call that cannot be directly dialed from an outside phone with a valid telephone number identified with the premises originating the call. As a result, the called party, such as a 911 emergency facility, is able to correctly locate and place a return call to a valid telephone number at the premises from which the call has been placed.

  • Publication number: 20030142303
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of positioning a focused image within a sampled medium in an optical measurement probe of the type wherein a focused sampling image is transmitted through a window having a surface facing a sampled medium. A test medium is measured, preferably through the window, and the magnitude of an optical signal associated with the test medium is then compared to the magnitude of an optical signal associated with the window, and the result of the comparison is used to position the focused image. Typically, the magnitudes of optical signals are representative or Raman scattering or another wavelength-selective radiative sampling process such as fluorescence detection. The method is not limited in terms of window composition, and is compatible with sapphire windows commonly used in industry. Nor is the invention limited in terms of test medium though, in the preferred embodiment a fluid hydrocarbon such as isopropyl alcohol is used.

  • Publication number: 20020133588
Abstract: A multi-protocol communication analysis system can analyze and report on the progress of the transport of a communication across a network having a plurality of protocol conversions. A user of the multi-protocol communication analysis system can view the transport analysis.

  • Patent number: 6095367
Abstract: A pressure vessel for holding a pressurized fluid such as compressed natural gas ("CNG") includes two end cells and zero or more interior cells. The cell geometry ensures that the cells meet one another at tangential circular surfaces, thereby reducing the tendency of adjacent cells to peel apart. A web secured about the cells includes two sheets that are tangent to the cells. Unused volumes between the cells and the web contain wedges of foam or rubber. A valve provides fluid communication between the interior of the pressure vessel and a pressurized fluid line. The filled weight of one pressure vessel does not exceed the filled weight of a conventional gasoline tank that occupies substantially the same space as the pressure vessel. The pressure vessel may be configured with exterior recesses for engaging conventional gasoline tank straps.

  • Patent number: 5813150
Abstract: A scraper apparatus is disposed beneath a truck for moving and scraping materials such as snow and ice. The scraper apparatus includes a moldboard scraper which is disposed beneath the truck for moving and scraping materials. A supporting table is disposed between the scraper and the truck for rotatably supporting the scraper. Also, slidable members extend from the table to the truck for permitting tilting of the table and the scraper secured thereto relative to the truck such that the moving and scraping of the materials is permitted regardless of an angle of the truck relative to a level and disposition of the materials.
