  • Patent number: 7267225
Abstract: A locking device for a disc retaining hub includes a base and a head that lock together over the hub to lock a disc on the hub until a portion of the locking device is destroyed. The head or the base of the locking device includes locking fingers that allow the head and base to lock together in a one-way snap fit connection. The locking mechanism may also cooperate with the disc retaining hub to lock itself to the hub. The locking mechanism prevents the disc from being removed from the hub until the locking mechanism is destroyed by the user.

  • Patent number: 6983841
Abstract: The invention provides a media storage container having a base and lid connected by a hinge with base and lid front walls disposed opposite the hinge. The base and lid front walls or sidewalls of the container include portions of the title of the item of recorded media within the container such that a complete title is viewable when the container is closed. In one embodiment, the invention provides printed letters on the base and lid. Another embodiment of the invention provides raised letters that are built into the base and lid.

  • Patent number: 6688463
Abstract: A storage container for a disc-shaped item of recorded media includes a hub that holds the disc-shaped item of recorded media by engaging the portion of the disc-shaped item of recorded media immediately adjacent the centrally-disposed opening of the disc-shaped item of recorded media. The hub includes three fingers that each include a holding projection that snap fits over the top of the disc-shaped item of recorded media. The container includes a ring that surrounds the hub so that the bottom of the disc-shaped item of recorded media does not engage the storage container. The outer circumference of the disc-shaped item of recorded media is supported by a circumferential ledge.

  • Publication number: 20030106815
Abstract: A storage container for items of recorded media has at least two book-like pages connected by a hinge assembly. The hinge assembly allows the pages to lie flat in the open configuration. The hinge assembly is formed in a manner that eliminates the material of the inner plastic sheet during the vacuum-forming process to create a hinge assembly having little or no memory to allow the container to lie flat in an open condition.
