  • Publication number: 20060084708
Abstract: Rigid foams having good insulation properties are made by reacting a polyisocyanate with an isocyanate-reactive material in the presence of a blowing agent composed of greater than about 0.5% by weight (based on total weight of foam forming materials) of water and less than about 12% by weight (based on total weight of foam forming materials) of HFC-245fa.
    Type: Application
    Filed: October 14, 2004
    Publication date: April 20, 2006
Inventors: Steven Schilling, Kevin Elsken, Edward Ball
  • Publication number: 20050148677
Abstract: The present invention provides rigid polyurethane foams prepared by mixing an isocyanate with a polyol component containing an aromatic amine-initiated polyether polyol, an aromatic polyester polyol and optionally, a sucrose-based polyether polyol. The inventive foams have good properties as indicated by an initial k-factor at 35° F. of from about 0.115 to about 0.120 BTU-in./hr.ft2° F. and may find use as insulation materials in the construction and refrigeration industries.
    Type: Application
    Filed: December 30, 2003
    Publication date: July 7, 2005
Inventors: Kevin Elsken, Steven Schilling, Herman Doerge
  • Publication number: 20050020709
Abstract: In the process of the present invention, an organic polyisocyanate is reacted with a sorbitol-based polyether polyol having a number average molecular weight of from about 400 to about 1500, in the presence of a pentafluoropropane blowing agent, and a catalyst.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 20, 2004
    Publication date: January 27, 2005
