  • Patent number: 6061230
Abstract: A panelboard/switchboard assembly for accommodating bolt-on modules, plug-in modules and lugs. The panelboard/switchboard includes vertical, edge forward bus bars having a plurality of openings formed therein. The edge forward alignment allows plug-in modules to be mounted to the bus bars. The openings in the bus bars receive bolts for mounting straps to the bus bars and for mounting lugs to the bus bars. The openings have a shape having at least one linear element and receive a bolt having an anti-rotation portion with a similar shape. The interference between the opening and the anti-rotation portion of the bolt prevents the straps, and the modules connected to the straps, from rotating.

  • Patent number: 5934115
Abstract: A lock assembly is formed from a two-piece plastic unit that is held together and to the compartment door by a planar lanced metal spring. The latch projection is ramped relative to the latch retainer slot within the compartment door to cause the latch piece to become jammed within the retainer slot in the event the door is subjected to severe internally-generated gas pressures.

  • Patent number: 5894404
Abstract: A circuit breaker panelboard enclosure is adapted to receive circuit breaker covers that are attached to the interior or circuit breaker module without requiring attachment screws and the like. The circuit breaker modules within the enclosure are equipped with electrically-insulative extension clips that are received and retained within apertures formed in the circuit breaker covers in press-fit relation. The circuit breaker covers are removed by grasping the ends of the circuit breaker covers and pulling the circuit breaker covers away from the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5654871
Abstract: A motor control center of the type including a short circuit protective device such as a circuit breaker or fusible disconnect, and a motor starter for interacting with an electric motor includes a wiring access cabinet at the top of the control center. The multi-phase conductors within the access cabinet are protected by means of a pair of slidably-arranged access doors. The doors are arranged in a different position along the front of the access cabinet to access each of the individual phase conductors.

  • Patent number: 5625531
Abstract: A Motor control center containing so-called "pilot" devices along with motor contactors and circuit interrupters mounts the pilot devices on a bracket that is received within the control center access door. The bracket is arranged to interact with the control center access door to automatically rotate the bracket in one direction when the access door is opened and to rotate the bracket in the opposite direction when the access door is closed.

  • Patent number: 5515236
Abstract: A universal electrical connector is incorporated into the electric power distribution network of a motor control center to connect the main circuit breaker with the control center vertical bus conductors and the branch circuit breakers. The connector in the form of a single metal casting is configured to connect the main circuit breaker with the control center internal electrical distribution conductors without requiring additional connectors.

  • Patent number: 5497287
Abstract: An electrical port safety guard mechanism in the form of a shutter assembly is positioned between the vertical power bus conductors in an electric motor control center and the electric components contained therein. The shutter assembly allows access to the busbar conductors when the electrical components are inserted within the motor control center and prevents electrical access to the busbar conductors when the electrical components are removed therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5189608
Abstract: An advanced financial reporting and analysis software package is described. The package collects, organizes, manages and consolidates financial data and provides user defined capabilities for creating financial and corporate reports. Financial data is organized into four business classifications or dimensions: Schedule, Entity, Period and Type. Data is stored in the system in such a way that all data associated with a particular Schedule, Entity, Period and Type is identified by that particular SEPT value. To accommodate automatic data entry, a mapping means or template is provided that specifies for each different input spreadsheet the location of the first data cell in the spreadsheet and the size of the spreadsheet. Data is read from the data store by various report and spreadsheet generating functions which convert data associated with particular SEPT values to desired output formats.

  • Patent number: 5021819
Abstract: A molded case circuit breaker includes an operating handle yoke that contacts the cradle operator and drives the operating mechanism springs over-center when the circuit breaker operating handle is moved from its RESET to its ON position. The contact between the handle yoke and cradle operator accelerates the over-centering of the powerful operating mechanism springs.
