  • Patent number: 11118445
Abstract: A system for improving communication between surface and downhole equipment, in some embodiments, comprises: a first transceiver in a formation; a second transceiver in the formation; and a third transceiver in the formation, the second transceiver positioned between the first and third transceivers, wherein, upon determining that a communication quality metric pertaining to wireless communication in the formation fails to meet a criterion, the first transceiver transmits data to the second transceiver, wherein, upon determining that said communication quality metric meets the criterion, the first transceiver transmits said data to the third transceiver in lieu of transmitting said data to the second transceiver.

  • Patent number: 10528637
Abstract: Systems and methods for presentation of content, or a title or link to content or presentation to a user on webpages of a website are provided. In one embodiment, a recommended content platform optimizes the links displayed on web pages based on a portfolio of content sources which determine which links are displayed in a given page view. The algorithms may or may not utilize data relating to user interaction with webpages and may produce different sets of links depending on the content of a webpage and a position on a webpage where the links are to be displayed. A given webpage may present links from multiple content sources displayed using multiple user interface elements distributed throughout the webpage.

  • Patent number: 9151866
Abstract: A multi-channel downhole telemetry system for enabling communication in a wellbore. The system includes a downhole transmitter operable to optically transmit a first data stream on a first optical channel and a second data stream on a second optical channel. A downhole receiver is operable to receive the first data stream and the second data stream. An optically transmissive fluid disposed in the wellbore provides a medium for the optical transmission of the first data stream and the second data stream between the downhole transmitter and the downhole receiver. The optically transmissive fluid contains suspended solids having refraction surfaces that scatter the optically transmitted data streams in the wellbore.

  • Publication number: 20130278432
Abstract: Systems and methods of communicating wellbore data are disclosed. One method includes transmitting a first uplink signal with a downhole transceiver to a plurality of repeaters communicably coupled to the downhole transceiver, the plurality of repeaters including individual repeaters axially spaced from each other along a length of a pipe string. The first uplink signal is successively transmitted through the individual repeaters, and a second uplink signal is then transmitted with the downhole transceiver to the plurality of repeaters wherein the individual repeaters again successively transmit the second uplink signal. The first and second uplink signals are simultaneously transmitted through the plurality of repeaters, but transmission of the first uplink signal precedes transmission of the second uplink signal. The first and second uplink signals are eventually received with a surface transceiver in communication with the plurality of repeaters.

  • Publication number: 20070219966
Abstract: A directory system maintains one or more databases of user information. The directory system receives a query from a searching user to identify directory information for a target user. The directory system identifies matching listings from each database. The directory system merges the listings to create a user-friendly display listing that displays relevant information to the user without burdening the searching user with numerous duplicate listings. Then the directory system displays the display listing to the searching user.
