Publication number: 20240416380Abstract: An applicator for coating metal wire with resin, an associated method for coating resin on metal wire, and an installation containing the applicator while using the method. The apparatus that contains an applicator for applying an resin solution and a wiping section, wherein the distance between these two can be adjusted as well as the length of the wiping section. The applicator applies a surplus of resin solution, while the wiping section calibrates this to the desired amount in order to obtain the final amount of dried resin on the wire. Both applicator and wiping section are contained in an encasement with provisions to recuperate evaporated solvent thereby reducing harmful emissions. In the associated method the resin to solvent ratio is used to steer to the final amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2022Publication date: December 19, 2024Applicant: NV Bekaert SAInventors: Jonas EGGERMONT, Jianhui (Kevin) GONG

Patent number: 11364396Abstract: A personal protective device (PPE) including a face cover assembly and a bodysuit configured to be worn by a human user. The device protects users against airborne aerosol particles containing viruses or other infectious agents while enabling improved flexibility relative to prior art designs. The device includes a helmet-like” rotating face cover assembly that fits over the user's head and attaches to a collar on the biohazard bodysuit. This rotating face cover assembly has a plurality of different mask sides, each with differing geometries or other properties. The device enables a user to rotate (either manually or by electric motor) the masks and select a given mask side that best meets that user's needs. The different mask sides can accommodate different facial geometries, eyewear types, and use cases, such as operation in more hostile environments.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2022Date of Patent: June 21, 2022Assignee: GOLDEN GALAXY CORPORATIONInventors: Kevin Gong, Yisha Tang, Ouyang Wenyi, Dai Chiuyin, Allen Bryan

Patent number: 7626573Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for navigating through a plurality of graphical elements with a trackball. For example, a method according to one embodiment of the invention comprises: detecting a substantially vertical motion on the trackball when a first element is selected; and responsively selecting either (a) a second element which is closest vertically to the first element or (b) a third element in the same horizontal line as the first element if a leftmost horizontal coordinate of the third element is closer to a leftmost horizontal coordinate of the first element than then leftmost horizontal coordinate of the second element.Type: GrantFiled: July 10, 2006Date of Patent: December 1, 2009Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Chunkwok Lee, Kevin Gong

Publication number: 20070067477Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for processing media data transmitted in a data communication medium. A digital processing system is provided with a time related sequence of media data provided to the digital processing system based on a set of data, wherein the set of data indicates a method to transmit the time related sequence of media data according to a transmission protocol. The set of data, itself, is a time related sequence of data associated with the time related sequence of media data. The time related sequence of media data may be presented and/or stored by the digital processing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 31, 2006Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: Anne Jones, Jay Geagan, Kevin Gong, Alagu Periyannan, David Singer

Patent number: 7107804Abstract: A method of forming a bottle-shaped or other contoured metal container by subjecting a hollow metal preform having a closed end to internal fluid pressure to cause the preform to expand against the wall of a die cavity defining the desired shape, and advancing a punch by means of a backing ram into the die cavity to displace and deform the closed end of the preform either before or after expansion begins but before it is complete. The pressure-subjecting step is performed by simultaneously subjecting the preform in the die cavity to independently controllable internal and external positive fluid pressures and varying the difference between them to control strain rate. Apparatus for performing the method includes a split die with plural split inserts disposed in tandem to define the die cavity wall and heaters respectively inserted within the preform and arranged to heat the backing ram.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2004Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Novelis Inc.Inventors: Kevin Gong, Peter Hamstra, Stuart MacEwen, Robert Mallory, James D. Moulton
