Publication number: 20240144239Abstract: A card having an antenna, one or processors, and memory having stored thereon a first application and a second application configured to receive an input of the card and determine a request associated with the input. The card is further configured to activate, responsive to determining that the request is consistent with a contactless EuroPay-MasterCard-Visa (EMV) data standard, the first application. The first application is configured to communicate, via near field communication (NFC), data to the communicating device via the antenna based on the EMV data standard for payment purposes. The card is further configured to activate, responsive to determining that the request is consistent with a near field communication data exchange format (NDEF) standard, the second application. The second application is configured to communicate, via NFC, data to the communicating device via the antenna based on the NDEF standard for verification/identification purposes.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 8, 2024Publication date: May 2, 2024Inventors: Jeffrey Rule, Kaitlin J. Newman, Wayne David Lutz, Kevin Grant Osborn, Paul Moreton

Patent number: 11961367Abstract: An electronic gaming device is described. The electronic gaming device includes a display device including a first display area and a second display area and at least one processor configured to execute instructions. The instructions, when executed, cause the at least one processor to determine a first game outcome and cause display of a first game outcome amount in the first display area. The instructions also cause the at least one processor to cause display of the first game outcome amount in the second display area, the second display area including a plurality of past game outcome amounts. The instructions further cause the at least one processor to determine a second game outcome, provide a second game outcome amount, and, based upon the second game outcome including a trigger event, provide a past game outcome amount of the plurality of past game outcome amounts.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 2022Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: Aristocrat Technologies, Inc.Inventors: T. Publication number: 20230082714Abstract: In an agricultural field having first regions with current soil test values known from actual tests and second regions having unknown soil test values, nutrient levels are predicted using a soil test model which defines a statistical relationship between (i) nutrient levels for a given region of a training field for a given season and (ii) field specific characteristics for the given region in a previous growing season and nutrient levels in the given region or proximate regions from the given growing season. Acquired known field specific characteristics and current soil test values from the first regions are then applied to the soil test model to calculate the predicted nutrient level the second regions. This can reduce the cost of soil sampling by using actual soil test results from one management zone as a predictor when modeling other zones' properties.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2022Publication date: March 16, 2023Inventors: David Eric Chalmers, Fatema Tuz Zohra, Guy Duke, Kevin Grant

Patent number: 10193756Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and computer-implemented methods for implementing a resource allocation and adjusting resource usage and spending based on information received from a plurality of network-connected devices. One example method is performed by identifying a master resource allocation associated with a plurality of connected devices and monitoring, at a device hub, resource usage information associated with at least one connected device. The device hub compares the monitored resource usage information associated with the at least one connected device to the master resource allocation for the plurality of connected devices, and, in response to the comparison, calculates at least one adjustment in operation for a particular connected device from the plurality of connected devices based on the monitored resource usage information.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2016Date of Patent: January 29, 2019Assignee: The Toronoto-Dominion BankInventors: Paul Mon-Wah Chan, Christianne Moretti, Kevin Grant, Kevin Mari, Jonathan K. Patent number: 9592568Abstract: A subsea friction welding apparatus comprises a chuck for supporting and retaining a weld item prior to welding the weld item to a work-piece, said chuck comprises a plurality of jaws having an internal profile to grip a corresponding profiled surface on the weld item and means for radially expanding the internal profile of the jaws of the chuck, said means actuable by axial insertion of the weld item into the chuck thereby avoiding relative rotation of the chuck and the weld item during insertion of the weld item into the chuck. In operation of the method, a supply of weld items and a weld head are deployed to a subsea location and the weld items are loaded via ROV into the weld head at the subsea location.Type: GrantFiled: May 27, 2015Date of Patent: March 14, 2017Assignee: PROSERV UK LIMITEDInventors: Adam James O'Leary, David Benjamin Smith, Nathan Alan Paculba, Kevin Grant Munro, David Ewen Gibson
