  • Patent number: 9790644
Abstract: A rail maintenance vehicle includes a frame, a workhead, an actuator, a pilot valve, and a throttling valve. The frame includes wheels that travel along rails. The actuator extends and retracts the workhead with respect to the frame. The pilot valve receives a fluid and controls the flow of the fluid to at least one output. The throttling valve adjusts a pressure of the fluid at an output relative to a pressure of the fluid at an input. The pilot valve and the throttle valve are coupled such that the fluid travels through the pilot valve and the throttling valve to cause the workhead to be extended or retracted.

  • Patent number: 9382025
Abstract: A conveying system for transporting a food product from an oven to a loading or packaging machine includes a transport conveyor system that has an input conveying belt and an output conveying belt that is parallel, driven at different speeds, and operatively mounted to a frame for transporting a food product. A plurality of displacement members are secured to the frame and positioned adjacent the input conveying belt. A sensor is located adjacent to a first end of the frame and adjacent to the input conveyor. Connected to the drives, the displacement members, and the sensor is a controller. The controller activates a selected displacement member based upon a sensed position of the food product as compared to a determined theoretical position of the food product to move the food product from the input belt to the output belt. The geometry of the belts on the transport conveyor allow the food product to self-center on the belt after the transfer.

  • Patent number: 8453631
Abstract: A crossbow includes an elongated frame coupled to a riser at a first end thereof. The riser supports a pair of flexible limbs, and a bowstring extends between such limbs. A movable bowstring release is used both to retract the bowstring into a drawn position, and to release the bowstring under the operation of a trigger assembly. The bowstring release is initially positioned near the bowstring at rest, and a bowstring hook is engaged therewith. A bowstring retractor includes a retractor rope secured to the bowstring release for retracting the bowstring. An upper housing is secured to the second end of the elongated frame, and supports a rope spool used to wind the retractor rope. The bowstring release is retracted into the upper housing proximate a trigger assembly for selectively releasing the bowstring when a user pulls a trigger.

  • Patent number: 8208385
Abstract: A method and apparatus for testing communications within a broadband network between a network edge device and a customer premises device. Network data traffic is diverted from the customer premises device to a test device. The test device emulates the customer premises device through the use of identifying data associated with the customer premises device. In one embodiment, data is diverted from the customer premises device to a test port loop back converter, which performs a DSL conversion of the data. The converted data is backhauled from the test port loop back converter to a test network edge device. The data is then sent from the test network edge device to a test customer premises device. The test customer premises device can be located at a site remote from the network edge device or can be collocated with and directly coupled to the network edge device.

  • Patent number: 8113911
Abstract: A maternity body support worn for correcting a woman's posture that includes an expandable body shell with a lower torso section, an upper torso section, a back section, and an abdominal opening. Mounted on the body shell is a pair of lower anchors located on opposite sides of the body, a pair of upper anchors located near the upper lateral region of the chest, a pair of elastic first support straps, and a pair of elastic second support straps. The first support straps attach to the lower anchors and then extend upward and around the back and coupled to the opposite shoulder complexes. The second support straps extend between the lower and upper anchors on each side of the body. The body shell, the two pairs of anchors and the two pairs of straps support the body and simultaneously rotate the opposite pelvis backwards and move the opposite shoulder complexes towards the mid-line.

  • Patent number: 7997258
Abstract: A crossbow has a riser, flexible limbs, a bowstring extending between the tips of the limbs for propelling an arrow, and an elongated frame extending from the riser. A bowstring release proximate the rear end of the elongated frame includes a trigger for releasing the bowstring, and firing an arrow. A first grip is disposed proximate to the trigger for being grasped by the user's first hand. A “Picatinny” type support rail extends along and below the elongated frame, secured at its rearmost end to the elongated frame, but otherwise spaced therefrom. The support rail can receive fore-grips, a bi-pod, or can be rested against a support surface to help steady the crossbow during firing.

  • Patent number: 7980235
Abstract: A portable bow press made of three distinct and separable parts. The first two parts contain loop assemblies made of steel wire formed into a U-shaped loop with the two ends connected via a bolt. The third part is a connection cable with S-hooks on either end that hook into the loop elements. The bolts in the loop assemblies are applied through tooling holes in pulleys on the limbs of a compound archery bow. The bow press is applied once the loop assemblies are in place. The limbs can be forced inward by drawing the bowstring creating enough slack for the connection cable to be hooked on either end to the loops. When the bowstring is released, the limbs are held by tension in the cable and loops to a point where they are closer than at brace height. When the bow press is applied, the bowstring is loose and maintenance can be applied to the bow, before disengaging the bow press.

  • Patent number: 7891349
Abstract: A compound archery bow having a riser and first and second limbs secured to and extending from opposite ends of the riser, each limb having an axel to support a wheel or cam; the limbs have a limb tip angle measured from an unstrung or unflexed limb position to a flexed position at brace height of at least 65° and preferably 75° or more. The bow has an axel-to-axel distance percentage change from an unstrung or unflexed condition to a brace condition of at least 20%. The limbs exhibit a limb tip angle percentage change from brace height to full draw condition of 25% or less of the total limb tip change from unflexed to full draw while the limb tip measured from an unstrung condition to a flexed condition at full draw is at least 80° and preferably 100° or more.

  • Publication number: 20100170488
Abstract: A crossbow includes an elongated frame coupled to a riser at a first end thereof and attached to an upper housing at its second end generally above the trigger region. The riser supports a pair of flexible limbs, and a bowstring extends between such limbs. A bowstring retractor is provided within the upper housing and includes a rope spool used to wind a retractor rope for retracting the bowstring. First and second spool gears surround the rope spool for rotation therewith. A spur gear mounted on a drive axle engages one of the spool gears, and a crank can be engaged with the drive axle. A pawl engages the other spool gear to prevent unintentional unwinding of the retractor rope from the rope spool. A pawl release member disengages the pawl from its associated spool gear. Drawing the bowstring beyond its full draw position also disengages the pawl.
