  • Publication number: 20150337571
Abstract: A security system includes a door having a door latch operable between a first position maintaining a closed state and a second position in which movement to an open state is enabled. A door handle on the door is graspable by a human hand to manipulate the door. A biometric scanner in the door handle is configured to detect a biometric parameter of an individual user. A biometric module receives an output of the biometric scanner to identify an authorized individual user. An actuator is operable in response to identification of the authorized individual user to move the door latch from the first position to the second position, or to release a lock which selectively retains the door latch in the first position so that the door is openable by manipulation of the door handle. Biometric scanners and modules for identifying users and triggering retrieval of vehicle settings of the users are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150317170
Abstract: Systems and methods for building an electronic device. One system includes a circuit board. A master controller and a plurality of modules are secured to the circuit board. Each of the plurality of modules is associated with manually-operable selection mechanism that allows the module to be placed in an active state or a deactivated state. The master controller can be configured to automatically identify a subset of the plurality of modules placed in the active state and to communicate with a software application executed on an external computing device to output identifying information for the subset of the plurality of modules to the software application. The master controller can also be configured to receive a configuration file from the software application, parse the configuration file, and transmit configuration data to each module included in the subset of the plurality of modules based at least in part on the parsed configuration file.

  • Patent number: 5624282
Abstract: An electrical connector comprises a housing of electrically insulative material and defining an interior compartment and passages extending from the interior compartment to an exterior surface of the housing. Electrical contact members are resident in the housing passages. At least one of the passages is circular in configuration and a power contact member resident in the one passage has a portion resident in the one passage circular in configuration and in press-fit sealed relation with the housing. The contact member resident in the one passage has a further portion resident in the interior compartment of blade-shaped configuration. A method of making the connector includes a step of press-fitting the power contact member into the one passage from the interior compartment with the contact member circular portion leading the contact member blade portion, such that the circular portion is in interference fit in the one passage and that the blade portion is resident in the interior compartment.

  • Patent number: 5435542
Abstract: A statement presenter for an automated teller machine includes a pair of upper belts (30) and a pair of lower belts (32). A paper stop (28) is mounted on a frame assembly (40). Cooperating arm members (42, 52) are operable to move the upper belts downwardly as the paper stop is moved upwardly and vice versa. In operation, the upper belts are moved upwardly while said paper stop is moved downwardly and a stack of papers (12) is accumulated. After accumulation of the stack, the paper stop is moved upwardly as the upper belt moves downwardly to engage the stack. Thereafter, the stack is moved outward to an exit slot (32) where the stack may be taken by a customer. If the customer fails to take the stack the direction of the belts is reversed until the stack engages a diverter plate (36) and passes into a storage bin (39) wherein the stack is held within the automated teller machine.
