  • Patent number: 6386491
Abstract: A storage device for storing strings of ornamental lights which have a plurality of strands hanging pendant from the main string. The device has a plurality of spokes attached with respect to an elongate vertical member. It is preferable to have a storage-positioning member attached at either or both of the top or bottom ends of the elongate vertical member such that the device is stored upright. The invention also includes a method for attaching the string of lights to the device by rotating the string around the elongate vertical member as the strands hang down between the spokes.

  • Patent number: 6374713
Abstract: A facedriver for holding a workpiece along the axis of a rotary-drive machining device, including a base member, a forwardly-biased centerpoint member, drivepins supported rearwardly by fluid in a fluid-containing chamber in the base member, a grip member contacting the centerpoint member, and a grip portion of the fluid chamber adjacent to the grip member for fluid contact therewith such that varying fluid pressure caused by loading force on the drivepins causes application of varying radial gripping force on the centerpoint member through the grip member.

  • Patent number: 6189181
Abstract: A door retaining structure is provided for limiting the path of a door pivotably mounted on a door frame. The door retaining structure includes a connection structure for interconnecting the door and the door frame. An inertial locking device is operatively connected to the connection structure for preventing movement of the door toward the open position in response to the predetermined force on the door.

  • Patent number: 5771762
Abstract: A face-driver assembly and method for accurate coupling of a face driver with the spindle of a rotary-drive machining device. The assembly includes a face driver, a hub on the spindle defining a prealignment bore, a pair of self-centering coacting tooth sets on the hub and face driver, an engagement post extending into the hub and forming a prealignment shaft closely complementary to the prealignment bore, and a releasable coupling to hold and draw the engagement post rearwardly and thereby join the tooth sets in a manner facilitating final accurate centering.

  • Patent number: 5456345
Abstract: A self-adjusting mechanism compensates for wear of over-center clutches and the like and is adapted to mechanically sense clutch wear or slack when the clutch is engaged and to compensate for such wear or slack upon disengagement of the clutch. The self-adjusting mechanism preferably comprises a relatively durable and simple ratchet mechanism including teeth mounted on the adjusting ring and a pawl mounted on the clutch face plate. The pawl retracts upon clutch engagement by an amount determined by the thickness of the gap between the adjusting ring and the face plate which is in turn dependent at least in part on clutch wear, and advances upon clutch disengagement by an equal amount. Slack adjustment takes place when the pawl engages a new tooth upon retraction and then advances upon clutch disengagement to drive the tooth and thus the adjusting ring to rotate on the hub.
