  • Patent number: 6973421
Abstract: A design and verification aide that can be used to produce BZ codes under static or dynamic process, voltage, temperature and external reference resistor (PVT and R) conditions for impedance controlled buffers or any other application using BZ codes. The simulation technique follows that of a flash ADC, and effectively replaces an awkward state-machine BZ controller with a subcircuit consisting of 5 BZREFN's, 5 BZREFP's, 10 HSPICE behavioral comparators, and the BZVREF. The resulting N- and P-codes may be adjusted by a parameterized dither count with minimum and maximum code values enforced by the model, and the comparators can be modified to model offset voltage.

  • Patent number: 6931560
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a first plurality of parallel switches and a second plurality of parallel switches. The first plurality of parallel switches may be configured to control a voltage on a first output pin. The second plurality of parallel switches may be configured to control a voltage on a second output pin. The first and second pluralities of parallel switches may be configured to provide rise time control of a differential waveform and be driven by a phased data signal.

  • Patent number: 6005200
Abstract: The invention concerns digitizing tablets in portable computers, wherein position of a stylus, located on the tablet, is computed. The invention corrects for various errors which creep into the computation, in order to produce a more accurate stylus position. The digitizing tablet has multiple sensors used to determine the stylus' position with respect to the digitizing tablet. Error signals are generated by measuring the sensors outputs when the stylus is not inducing a signal into the digitizing tablet. In one embodiment, these error signals are used to modify certain parameters used in calculating the stylus position.

  • Patent number: 5920204
Abstract: A differential current mode driver is provided with output source and sink currents that remain nearly equal in magnitude and opposite in direction throughout normal, power-down, and power-up modes of operation. Three time constants are employed to regulate these different modes of operation. The differential current mode driver includes a first time constant to stabilize the output source and sink currents during the on-state, a second time constant to control the transition from the on-state to tristate, and a third time constant to control the transition from tristate to the on-state, all the while maintaining equal source and sink currents.

  • Patent number: 4866598
Abstract: A communications base microcontroller particularly adapted for use with a multiplexing character processor of the type that multiplexes data characters to and from a plurality of communication lines to a central processing unit. The communications base microcontroller is operable with communication lines carrying various protocols and data rates. A scan list and direction control stores the order in which the communication lines are to be scanned and the direction of the next data flow. An instruction execution unit in response to the scanning order set by the scan list fetches instruction words during a machine cycle preceding an execution cycle and provides operands and instructions each associated with the particular communication line being scanned. A program control device, in response to multiplexing rate (scan rate) established by the scan list stores the present instruction, the input protocol and other functions and selects a pointer to the next program instruction.
