    Abstract: A photovoltaic cell has a photosensitive substrate, a plurality of fingers in ohmic contact with the substrate, and a plurality of pads on the substrate. The plurality of pads effectively form a plurality of discontinuous busbars. Two of the fingers extend from a first pad of the plurality of pads. Specifically, a given one of the two fingers (“given finger”) may connect with a second pad of the plurality of pads. This given finger may have an inter-pad portion between the first and second pads. The cell further has a tab at least partially covering the inter-pad portion of the given finger.

    Abstract: Diamond film with substantially no non-diamond carbon and a high thermal conductivity is deposited by means of a direct current arc jet apparatus with a substrate temperature below about 975 degrees Celsius, an arc power of between about 20 and 40 kw. A pressure of about 12 torr, and an enthalpy greater than 30 from a activated gas jet fed with hydrogen and methane, the methane being supplied at a concentration of less than 0.07%. The resulting material has a high transparency and thermal conductivity.Also disclosed is the use of the diamond material made by the present method for cutting tool applications, particularly milling.

    Abstract: A safety restraint limiting the separation of brake actuator housings containing powerful compression springs. The restraint consists of a sheet metal body having a notch receiving the housing flanges, the notch being of sufficient dimension to permit partial separation of the housing flanges upon release of the flange clamp band, and the flange and restraint include engaging complementary surfaces which produce an inward force on the restraint when the restraint is subjected to axial spring forces thereby retaining the restraint notch in alignment with the housing flanges to limit axial separation thereof.
