  • Publication number: 20250135909
Abstract: A method and system for modifying range of a battery of a personal transport device based on prosocial behavior is described. In one embodiment, the method includes detecting at least one object located on a path on which the personal transport device is traveling and calculating a prosocial yielding behavior parameter associated with the at least one object and the personal transport device. The method also includes comparing the calculated prosocial yielding behavior parameter to a threshold value. Based on the comparison of the calculated prosocial yielding behavior parameter to the threshold value, access is provided to at least a part of a power reserve portion of a battery of the personal transport device.

  • Publication number: 20250136225
Abstract: A method and system for calculating route guidance for a personal transport device based on prosocial costs is described. In one embodiment, the method includes calculating, by a processor associated with the personal transport device, a plurality of routes from a first location to a second location and determining, by the processor, one or more prosocial factors associated with each route of the plurality of routes. The method also includes calculating, by the processor, a prosocial cost associated with each route of the plurality of routes. Based on the prosocial costs, the method further includes providing, by the processor, route guidance to a user of the personal transport device from the first location to the second location along a selected route from the plurality of routes and displaying the selected route on a display associated with the personal transport device.

  • Patent number: 9604850
Abstract: A method of purifying ammonia borane is provided in which crude ammonia borane is dissolved in an organic solvent, such as an ether, and mixed with a basic aqueous solution to form a two-phase system. The pH of the aqueous solution and the temperature are adjusted to increase the solubility of the impurities and decrease the solubility of the ammonia borane in the basic aqueous solution, without causing decomposition of the ammonia borane. The impurities are separated from the crude ammonia borane solution, the mixture is phase-separated and the dissolved ammonia borane is isolated from the organic solvent fraction. High purity ammonia borane is obtained.

  • Patent number: 9005562
Abstract: A method of purifying ammonia borane is provided whereby crude ammonia borane is dissolved in a basic aqueous solution, the solution is heated to decompose and precipitate impurities found in the crude ammonia borane, and the impurities are separated by filtration. The aqueous solution containing dissolved ammonia borane is then cooled to a temperature of from 10° C. to ?10° C., to precipitate the ammonia borane, which is recovered and dried to yield a high-purity product.

  • Patent number: 8707051
Abstract: A firmware cipher component is provided which can be configured and programmed to efficiently implement a broad range of cryptographic ciphers while accelerating their processing. This firmware cipher component allows an ASIC to support multiple cipher algorithms while accelerating the operations beyond speeds conventionally achieved by software or firmware only solutions. This system combines cryptographic specific custom instructions with hardware based data manipulation accelerators. The cryptographic specific custom instructions and hardware accelerators may support both block and stream ciphers. Thus, the system may be reconfigured, allowing the cipher algorithm to change without halting the system. Further, embedding the Firmware Programmable Cipher within an ASIC may allow future capabilities to be supported in secure applications.

  • Patent number: 8103733
Abstract: Described is a method for retracting an instant message from a receiver in an instant messaging session. A request is made to retract the instant message from the receiver. If the receiver is present in the session, the instant message is removed from the user interface of the receiver. Notification is sent to the requestor to indicate whether the instant message was successfully retracted and whether the instant message was saved by the receiver. Optionally, the method allows an entry made in an instant messaging log to be retracted when the corresponding instant message is retracted.

  • Publication number: 20110154979
Abstract: A means for actuating fire of a projectile, such that power input for said firing be supplied via foot operated pedal. This energy is transferred to impart minor rotation in a large ratchet wheel, the rotation thereof oscillating a lever. The positive phase of said oscillation displaces a spring powered cock, such that subsequent counter motion thereof drive a firing pin into a primer, thereby igniting the latter and a secondary charge adequately to propel a projectile.

  • Patent number: 5688906
Abstract: A method for forming a polyamic acid having nonlinear optical (NLO) or pre-NLO side chains, which method includes the steps of:(1) providing a bis-(aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride) containing at least one NLO or pre-NLO side chain having the structure represented by:D-R-Awherein D, R and A form a delocalized resonance configuration in which R is a pi-conjugated non-centrosymmetric moiety, A is hydrogen or an electron withdrawing moiety and D is an electron donating moiety covalently linked to the bis-(aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride); and(2) reacting the bis-(aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydride) with an aromatic diamine to form a polyamic acid having NLO or pre-NLO side chains. Methods for preparing polyamic acids having NLO or pre-NLO side chains by reacting aromatic diamines having NLO or pre-NLO side chains with bis-(aromatic dicarboxylic acid anhydrides) are also disclosed.
